Class Begins this Sunday Morning!
After much discussion, thought and prayer, we will be having our Generations class beginning this Sunday in the chapel. I will be teaching the Hebrews study that we have been doing the last few weeks. It is an exciting move forward, but is also going to be different In style.
Let me give you a heads up on a few things that will be slightly different:
We will have a limit of 30-35 people depending on social distancing. We ask that you prayerfully consider your attendance, and whether it would be appropriate for you to be there in person based on your health considerations. Our room will be similar to the auditorium with every other pew blocked off so we can maintain proper social distancing. If we do reach a point of capacity, we will nicely ask people to take advantage of the auditorium class. When we see that happening consistently, we will regroup to determine other options. We will have a zoom class option, and that information is at the bottom of this email. I would begin logging on around 10:15 am, although the class start time is 10:30 am.
We are asking that as you enter and exit that you wear a mask, to protect those who may be compromised in some way that could be walking through from other areas. Once you are seated, and social distancing is achieved, you may remove your mask if you wish. We will not be doing any singing at this point, but we will have class discussion as we always have had.
We will have coffee being served by people in masks and gloves so we can maintain a safe atmosphere. Donuts may come later in the same fashion.
*If you would, please respond to this if you are planning on coming to class. This will give us an idea on what to expect in regards to numbers. Only respond if you are planning on coming.
I love this prayer from the book Pray like Paul:
Lord Jesus, you said that when you were lifted up, you would draw all men to yourself. You also prayed for unity so that people would know who you are and be drawn to you. Lord, do a mighty work in our church to bring unity. God who gives understanding and encouragement, would you give me the perseverance and strength I need to work through the differences I have with other believers in my church and community, to show grace to others who have different opinions, tastes and ideas than I do. Help me to see that I don't have to have the same opinions as everyone else in order to be in unity. We can be different and still be unified in You! Make me a champion for unity in my church so you would be glorified. Amen.
