Gunslinger Redemption Church

Gunslinger Redemption Church Gunslinger Redemption Church exists simply to bring the gospel to the Motorcycle Club community. Rev. John "Preach" Crowdy, Senior Pastor.

Pastor James Chrim, Associate. The Gunslinger Redemption Church exists for all who seek Christ. John "Preach" Crowdy Senior Pastor along with Pastor James Chrim make up the Church and Outside Speaker Staff. We are a ministry that seeks to be characterized by a radical faith and we know few boundaries that will stop us from where we need to go to spread the Gospel. We are non denominational and hav

e a Pastoral staff from varying ministerial backgrounds and theological positions. As a local body of the universal church we simply believe in the doctrine of the trinity and Salvation by Grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone and that the Scriptures are the only authoritative text within the church. All the rest of the Religious stuff is made up of things the citizens like to make quite a bit bigger than it is. We are too busy going about our father's work to spend time thinking or worrying about that. Just give us Jesus and let us get our boots on the ground!

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23–7:1, NKJV, https://ref.ly/Ro6.23-7.1;nkjv)

There is a fundamental difference between cleaning up a mess and being cleaned up from your mess. In the case of salvation Christ is the method and you are the object. Understanding this any other way leads to destruction …

1 Corinthians 3:18-19 NKJV: Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God.

The more I read these days, the more I see the futility surrounding man's wisdom. That is a fairly easy statement to make in 2025, and not a very deep one at that.

But I am not exclusively thinking about secular statements here. I am speaking about the wisdom of man somehow blended into the Word of God. It seems to be more and more prevalent within the things I read and the so-called messages I see preached.

Like Paul, the older I get, the more I seem to better understand that the only thing that truly matters is the truth as spoken in the Word of God. Less preaching and more teaching should rule the day. Not opinions - mine or otherwise - just helping people listen to God by explaining the context and background of the text.

Christ and Him crucified is power enough to overcome the world!

You know I was thinking this morning about what it means to be Christlike. I have this debate with myself from time to time. Every year it seems I am less like Christ. Not that I have changed my direction but that I am aware of how much higher the standard is as each year passes.

Am I the only one here?

Luke 6:32-36 NIV: 32 “If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them. 33 And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that. 34 And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full. 35 But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. 36 Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

Ephesians 2:14–19 (NKJV): 14 For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, 15 having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, 16 and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. 17 And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. 18 For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.

I like old western movies. I can’t really name all the times I have heard the saying, “Make your peace with God” in them. It kind of begs a question though I think. What truly is peace with God? Our passage in Ephesians lays that out for us. It mentions peace three times in reference to us and God. So let’s look together at them individually:

“He is our peace” This one really hits you square between the eyes when you take a minute to consider it. You see we don’t really make peace with him because he is our peace. Christ accomplished this for us on the cross. We simply need to admit our sin and accept his work.

“He made peace” The only way to accomplish this peace was by Christ fulfilling all the promises that were given in the Scripture. At the cross he broke down the wall of separation between us and our creator. He did not change the law as some have propertied as if grace was cheap or easy. Scripture affirms that’s simply untrue. God looks at our violations as if they are all the same, he tells us so in Romans Chapter Six. No, he fulfilled the law by keeping all of the promises made in the Scriptures. We were literally “at war” with God until “Peace” was made at the cross.

“Peace is for all of us” He not only died for our sins but he allowed us back into his family. Us you ask? Us Gentiles. No more separation from the rest of God’s family. Both Jew and Gentile are now the Sons and Daughters of God.

In the light of all this I think those of us who are in Christ should probably remember a few things and put them into practice.

Remember who you were before you accepted Christ. It really shoots holes in that judgement problem we all have.

Remember who you are as all of us are redeemed but not yet risen. We all are just striving to be more Christlike but we all sin. Why? Because we have not yet arrived home.

Remember how to live. We were not hated before Christ even though we were living the way we did. Instead, we were loved enough to die for. How about we return at least some of that love to those in the World instead of our faulty human judgement.

God bless you and keep you …
