This passage has been ringing through my mind lately regarding riots and social media outrage:

“He who passes by and meddles in a quarrel not his own Is like one who takes a dog by the ears.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭26‬:‭17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Can you imagine grabbing an angry dog by the ears? How do you think that would work out in reality? I’m not talking about some braggadocious fantasy…but in real life.

Some are declaring their Constitutional rights and using those rights to interfere with other people’s quarrels. They’re grabbing a dog by the ears.

Others are injecting themselves into events that have nothing to do with them. They’re grabbing a dog by the ears.

Violence is erupting in many locations.
People feel the need to express opinions as if they are facts. They’re grabbing a dog by the ears.

If a person spent time in the Word daily and could hear the Holy Spirit…and apply (live out) that Word, he wouldn’t “grab a dog by the ears.”

“And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24‬:‭12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Keep your eyes, and hearts on the Kingdom of God

It is absolutely true that you are not saved by works. It is strictly by faith and by the grace of God. However, the works of obedience, surrender, submission, and righteousness are the proof that your salvation has really occurred. If you have learned nothing else in the past few days, I hope that you have learned this: if the devil cannot cripple you and silence your voice by tempting you into sin and making you fall, he will resort to more violent options. We are not ignorant of his schemes. Stand up. Speak up Be faithful to the Lord and Truth. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
