Today's devotional
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary and young me stumble and fall. But those who Hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on the wings like eagles they will run and not grow weary they will walk and not faint
Is 40:29-31
Reflection
It's completely natural to wake up some mornings and feel sluggish foggy or weighed down by the physical pains of life . Our bodies and minds have strict limits. But today's scripture reminds us that when our personal fuel tank hits empty God's supply of strength is completely uninterrupted for those whose hope is in the Lord.
True renewal doesn't come from forcing ourselves to be stronger it comes by placing our hope trust and heavy burdens into the hands of the Lord. When we step back and rely on him He gives us the endurance to take the next step even if the road feels steep.
So give it to God take a deep breath right now and let it go

Waiting in the Waiting Room
I sat in the waiting room while Silvia went through her endoscopy. My heart raced with every minute that passed. What was she feeling? Was she okay? The unknown made me nervous.
In that quiet, anxious space, God gently reminded me:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
— Philippians 4:6-7
Even when we can’t see what’s happening behind closed doors, God is already there—with Silvia, with the doctors, and with us in the waiting. He holds every detail, calms every fear, and wraps us in a peace that doesn’t depend on the outcome.
So today, if you’re waiting for someone you love, breathe. Pray. Trust. The same God who walks with them through the procedure sits with you in the waiting room.
Lord, thank You for Your nearness in our anxious moments. Fill us with Your peace as we wait. Amen.

God Can't Bless What We Haven't Released.

We often hold tightly to pain, unforgiveness, our past, our children, or our worries, but true surrender opens the door for God's blessing. Matthew eleven, twenty-eight through thirty: Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

God’s Promises Never Fail
Scripture
“Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled.”
—Joshua 21:45
God keeps His word. He promises:

He will never leave you (Hebrews 13:5)
He works all things for your good (Romans 8:28)
He will supply every need (Philippians 4:19)
He gives strength and help (Isaiah 41:10)
Nothing can separate you from His love (Romans 8:39)

These are not empty words. The same God who fulfilled every promise to Israel still stands behind each one He has spoken to you.
Application
Choose one of these promises today. Write it down, speak it aloud, and hold it close. When fear, lack, or loneliness presses in, remember: God does not fail. Trust Him—He is faithful.
Prayer:
Father We come to you today help us to rest in you and trust in these promises for you alone are good you alone are trustworthy you alone are to be praised Amen

Devotional: In the Middle of It All
Scripture:
“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
— Luke 10:41-42 (NIV)
Reflection:
Work deadlines. Kids’ needs. Laundry. Meals. Emails. The list never ends. It’s easy to feel like Martha—pulled in every direction, worried and upset about many things—while the quiet time with Jesus keeps getting pushed aside. Yet Christ gently reminds us that only one thing is truly needed: sitting at His feet. Devotion isn’t about perfect quiet hours; it’s about choosing Him in the middle of the noise.
Application:
Today, when the chaos rises, pause for sixty seconds. Look at your child, your task list, or your next meeting and simply say, “Jesus, I’m choosing You right here.” Invite Him into the mess instead of waiting for a perfect moment. Small, faithful choices in the middle of real life are what keep your heart close to Him.
Prayer:
Lord, help me choose the better thing even when everything feels urgent. Meet me in the middle of work and family today. Amen.

Overcoming Discouragement
Discouragement can settle in like a heavy fog—quiet, persistent, and hard to shake. It whispers that progress is impossible, that effort is wasted, or that God has somehow stepped back. Yet Scripture never pretends these feelings are foreign to the life of faith. It meets them head-on with truth that reorients the heart.
David knew the weight of a downcast soul. He wrote:
“Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.”
—Psalm 42:5, 11
The psalmist does not deny the turmoil. He names it, then deliberately redirects his focus to the unchanging character of God. Hope is not a feeling we wait to feel; it is a decision to remember who God is.
Paul described a similar experience with striking honesty:
“We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.”
—2 Corinthians 4:8–9
Notice the pattern: pressure is real, yet it does not have the final word. The same God who sustained Paul is the One who promises:
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
—Isaiah 41:10
Discouragement loses its grip when we shift from staring at the size of the problem to resting in the presence and power of the One who is with us.
A simple response when discouragement comes:
Name it honestly before God. Speak His promises back to your soul (even if your emotions lag behind). Remember that feeling down does not mean God has abandoned you—He draws especially near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). Keep taking the next faithful step, however small.
Prayer
Father, when my heart is heavy and hope feels distant, lift my eyes to You. Replace the lies of discouragement with the truth of Your presence and strength. Help me hope in You again today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Be Still: Finding God in the Midst of Busyness
Scripture
“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10
“Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.” — Luke 10:41–42
Reflection
Many of us live like Martha—moving from one task to the next, our minds racing ahead of our bodies. Work, family, ministry, errands, notifications… the list never ends. Busyness can feel productive, even virtuous. Yet Scripture gently confronts us: constant motion can crowd out the one thing that truly matters—knowing and resting in God.
Jesus does not condemn work or responsibility. He simply points out that anxiety and distraction steal our attention from Him. Stillness is not laziness; it is the deliberate choice to stop long enough to remember who is actually in control. When we refuse to be still, we subtly act as if everything depends on us. When we pause, we confess that God is God—and we are not.
Applications
Protect a daily “still” moment. Set aside 5–10 minutes with no phone, no list, and no agenda. Read a short passage (start with Psalm 46 or Luke 10), then sit in silence. Let the first impulse to “get something done” pass without acting on it.
Name the anxiety underneath the busyness. Ask: “What am I afraid will happen if I slow down?” Bring that fear honestly to God instead of trying to outrun it with more activity.
Practice the “one necessary thing.” Before saying yes to another commitment, ask whether it will help or hinder your ability to sit at Jesus’ feet. Sometimes the most faithful answer is a quiet “no.”
End the day with release. Before sleep, name three things you accomplished and three things left undone. Then consciously hand the unfinished list to God: “You are still God, even when I stop.”
Prayer
Lord, I confess that I often measure my worth by how full my calendar is. Teach me to be still. Quiet the noise in my mind and the urgency in my spirit so that I can know You are God. Help me choose the better portion today—Your presence over my productivity. Amen

“Quiet Strength Under His Wings”
Scripture
Psalm 91:1-2, 4
“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’ … He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings you will find refuge.”
Psalm 23:1-3
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul.”
Reflection
There is a quiet strength that does not need to be loud to be powerful. It is the strength of a heart that has learned to rest. The world often measures value by volume—by how much we do, how loudly we speak, or how visible our efforts are. But God sees differently. He treasures the one who simply dwells close to Him.
Under His wings there is safety. Beside still waters there is restoration. The Shepherd does not always remove the valley, but He never leaves us to walk it alone. When life feels overwhelming, when words fail, and when our own strength runs dry, He invites us to come close and remain there.
True meekness is not weakness. It is the settled confidence that we are held. It is the quiet trust that says, “I do not have to figure everything out today. My God is my refuge.”
Application
Today, pause for a moment.
Where have you been striving in your own strength?
What worry or sorrow have you been carrying alone?
Take a deep breath and picture yourself moving under the shadow of the Almighty. Tell Him, “Lord, I choose to dwell here with You.” Let His nearness restore your soul. Then, from that place of rest, offer a quiet act of kindness to someone else—just as a gentle life can touch others more deeply than we realize.
Prayer
Father, thank You that I do not have to be strong in myself. Teach me to dwell in Your shelter and rest under Your wings. Restore my soul and help me walk in quiet trust today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Joy That Remains
Scripture:
“These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.”
— John 15:11 (ESV)
Joy is not the same as happiness. Happiness rises and falls with circumstances—good news, kind words, sunny days. Joy, the kind Jesus offers, runs deeper. It is rooted in Him, not in what happens around us.
When Jesus spoke these words, He was about to face the cross. Yet He spoke of His joy becoming our joy—complete, steady, and full. This joy does not ignore pain or pretend everything is fine. It simply refuses to be defined by pain. It knows that the One who holds us is greater than whatever we face.
Today, you may not feel joyful. That is okay. Joy is not a feeling we manufacture; it is a gift we receive by staying close to Jesus. Abide in Him. Let His words dwell in you. Then His joy begins to take root—quiet, strong, and lasting.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You that Your joy is not fragile. Plant it deep in me today. When my heart is heavy or distracted, remind me that true joy is found in You alone. Make my joy full—not because life is perfect, but because You are present. Amen.
Take a quiet moment to thank God for one simple gift in your life right now. Let that small gratitude become a doorway to deeper joy.
