From Texas Storm chasers
Usually, I would celebrate the heavy rain chance in January in the midst of extreme drought. I'm not thrilled about it this time around.

FRIDAY NIGHT - Rain coverage will expand, and later in the night or very early Saturday morning, that rain could become quite heavy. 1-3" is possible with some spotty/brief/minor flooding possible.

Why is that a bad thing? All of the pretreating that TXDOT has been doing since Wednesday could be rendered less effective if this heavy rain washes it out of the roads. All of this could happen only hours ahead of a transition to freezing rain later Saturday morning.

Just something to keep in mind. I simply would not risk traveling this weekend unless absolutely necessary. Icing of elevated roadways could begin as early as Saturday at sunrise.

Psalm 34:14 NKJV
Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.

David gives us very sound advice in this short passage, and it is repeated throughout both the Old and New Testaments. Turn away from satan and turn TO God, SEEK peace and make it our goal. Have departed from evil ? Are we SEEKING peace ?

Today pray for a contrite heart, to truly repent and SEEK God rather than the evil of the world and pray to have and show others the love of God by SEEKING peace instead of encouraging turmoil.
