“So when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭1‬:‭6‬-‭7‬
Verse 7 Jesus tells us “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority” How many do we waste time trying to figure out the season we are in or why we are in the season we are in? What a waste of time! Really a great tool of the enemy to get in our head and have us waste time trying to figure out or explain the season we are in(Distractions.) Instead of wasting time trying to explain or figure it out, JUST WALK IT OUT. As a born again child of God He has given us all we need to walk out everything He puts in our lives, Faith, strength(His strength not ours), comfort(He has given us The Comforter), and ability(His ability not ours.) So let’s stop trying to figure out these season and let’s just walk them out following the leadership of the One who creates and changes the seasons.

“So Jehoiachin put off his prison garments. And every day of his life he dined regularly at the king’s table,”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭52‬:‭33‬
Why do we continually make the choice to walk around in nasty prison garments when He has a brand new fresh clean, white, and pure wardrobe designed just for us specifically. Some many of Gods children choose to continue to wear the prison clothes of depression, anger, lust, addiction, drama, sorrow, oh woah is me, negativity, griping, unsatisfaction, discontentment, etc…… This is not how He wants us walking around He has provided new clothing for us to walk around in; “And the angel said to those who were standing before him, “Remove the filthy garments from him.” And to him he said, “Behold, I have taken your iniquity away from you, and I will clothe you with pure vestments.””
‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭3‬:‭4
He has ready for you and I new garments to walk around in, so put off those prison garments today and put on the garments of freedom and victory.

“For Israel and Judah have not been forsaken by their God, the Lord of hosts, but the land of the Chaldeans is full of guilt against the Holy One of Israel.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭51‬:‭5‬
If we are being open, transparent, and vulnerable there have been times or maybe your in a time right now were you feel like God has forgotten about you and has forsaken you. I can assure you through the scriptures that He hasn’t and won’t forsake us or forget about us. These thoughts or feelings are the enemy lying to you and I. These lies are also a product of our distance we have put in our relationship with God, not studying the Word like we use to, not praying like we used to, not being faithful to the church line we used to, etc…… Part of Hosea 1:10 says “And in the place where it was said to them, “You are not my people,” it shall be said to them, “Children of the living God.”” Remember that title today Children of the living God. I’m sure we have all had that feeling that someone close to us is angry with us, not happy with us, or just doesn’t like us, but when we step back and evaluate that’s the farthest thing from the truth, there just has been distance from one of us involved in the relationship. If the distance statement is true in our relationship with God then what are you waiting for close that distance up and draw up close to Him.

“and I will set my throne in Elam and destroy their king and officials, declares the Lord. “But in the latter days I will restore the fortunes of Elam, declares the Lord.””
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭49‬:‭38‬-‭39‬
So many times we get angry with God because of the removal of things or people from our lives or because we have to walk through struggle and heart ache. We have to believe that He tried other ways and we just wouldn’t listen. He always has good plans for our lives, even when we don’t think they look good. Removal may be painful but restoration is a beautiful thing. In verse 39 the Lord told Jeremiah “in the latter days I will restore the fortunes of Elam,” so many times the people or things that God removes or destroys from our lives are the very things standing in the way of the restoration He wants to bring to your life.

“Why do you boast of your valleys, O faithless daughter, who trusted in her treasures, saying, ‘Who will come against me?’”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭49‬:‭4‬
Humility is so important in our walk. Humility is important because it keeps us from getting too big for our britches. If we don’t remain in a state of humility we begin to trust in ourselves, “what we have done,” and begin to think man ain’t nothing can touch me or knock me down. This is when we leave God as our refuge and run to other stuff. So stay humble, trust in what God has done and is doing, and don’t let your refuge be anything but God.

“It is because you made offerings and because you sinned against the Lord and did not obey the voice of the Lord or walk in his law and in his statutes and in his testimonies that this disaster has happened to you, as at this day.””
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭44‬:‭23‬
The Word of God tells we will suffer as a follower of Christ. Sometimes we bring suffering and hell on ourselves because of our disobedience and our unbelief. Believe it or not God has expectations for us in how we walk as followers of Jesus. We don’t walk a certain way to get to heaven, we walk a certain way because we are going to heaven, I don’t do good things to get to heaven, I do good things because I am going to heaven. If we will dig into His word we will find out exactly what kind of life He desires us to live. Part of 1 Cor. 10:20 says “I do not want you to be participants with demons” the Greek word here for demons comes from a Greek word meaning a super natural spirit(of a bad nature) so when we think demons or evil spirits here are a few we must stay clear of laziness, offense, idolatry, excuse, etc…. Don’t bring on your own suffering today, walk on His law, in His statutes, and in His testimonies.

01/14/2025

“But if you say, ‘We will not remain in this land,’ disobeying the voice of the Lord your God and saying, ‘No, we will go to the land of Egypt, where we shall not see war or hear the sound of the trumpet or be hungry for bread, and we will dwell there,’”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭42‬:‭13‬-‭14‬
Gotta stop running and stay. Running and leaving are always the easiest things to do but not always what God is calling us to do. Sometimes God is calling us to stay and do the difficult stuff, the difficult, hard work. We see this so often in the American church, I can’t go to this church because they don’t have this or that, or they do this or that. What if God is trying to place you there to help that congregation get were He wants them to be, He wants you to go through the growing pains and struggles that bring amazing fruits. We must stop running and leaving when God is calling, He’s calling because He sees something inside you that the tough times will bring out in you and He is wanting to do amazing things in and through you in the process.

01/13/2025

“If you will remain in this land, then I will build you up and not pull you down; I will plant you, and not pluck you up; for I relent of the disaster that I did to you.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭42‬:‭10‬
This morning the Lord gave me the word remain. This is not a popular word in our world today. We want what we want and we want it now, we have “fast food,” microwaves, instapots, and many other things that speed up the process, all so we don’t have to wait and remain. Remaining is tough and it’s not easy, but it’s fruitful if it’s of God. All this impatience runs over into our spiritual lives, I have a personal testimony of remaining and watching what God does. For me it was by His grace and mercy because I had it set in mind, I was suppose to go somewhere else and that was all me and none God and He kept me in place, and I’m forever thankful for that. So this is the word God gave me this morning remain and that’s where the build up and planting will take place.

“Jeremiah the prophet said to them, “I have heard you. Behold, I will pray to the Lord your God according to your request, and whatever the Lord answers you I will tell you. I will keep nothing back from you.””
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭42‬:‭4‬
“whatever the Lord answers I will tell you” Really an area I have struggled with and striving to get better At is communicating what God has communicated to me to others. I used to be scared of what others might think, “like I’m crazy, or weird” but lately I have tried to remain in a place of surrender to God and allowing Him to communicate to me and then in turn communicating it back to the intended audience. That’s the cool thing about a relationship with God, is the communication, and it’s for a reason. Sometimes it is uncomfortable and not pleasant to the flesh but man is it refreshing to the soul when someone says I needed just that(God knew what He was doing, imagine that🤔) So I want to encourage you to communicate what God has communicated to you with others when needed and don’t keep anything back, especially when it’s tough.

“For I will surely save you, and you shall not fall by the sword, but you shall have your life as a prize of war, because you have put your trust in me, declares the Lord.’””
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭39‬:‭18‬
“You shall have your life as a prize of war” What a promise! Guys don’t stop, keep fighting the good fight, don’t give up. We have all probably been on the brink of quitting and giving up some probably more extreme than others. But what a promise we have here from God that we will have our lives as a prize of war. We can continue on, we get to enjoy Gods blessings, His provisions, His compassion, His love, and His creation. If you’re going through it right now let this be your word from God to keep going and not to quit. If your going to go through it in the future out this in your tool box for use when you need it. KEEP GOING, KEEP DOING WHAT YOUR DOING, all for the Lord.

““Go, and say to Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will fulfill my words against this city for harm and not for good, and they shall be accomplished before you on that day. But I will deliver you on that day, declares the Lord, and you shall not be given into the hand of the men of whom you are afraid.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭39‬:‭16‬-‭17
As an obedient, follower, and disciple of Jesus Christ when it looks like everything is falling a part and there is destruction all around you this scripture with many more is our hope. “But I will deliver you on that day” deliverance and protection are real things in the life of those that choose to surrender to God. Some of us faced things, some of are facing things, and some of us are facing things that’s part of our walk with Christ. “They will fight against you, but they shall not prevail against you, for I am with you, declares the Lord, to deliver you.””
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭1‬:‭19‬
There will be those that fight against us, there will be sickness and disease, there will be hard times and struggles, but they will not prevail among the obedient and surrendered disciples of Jesus Christ. He has good plans, trust Him.

01/07/2025

“But if you refuse to surrender, this is the vision which the Lord has shown to me:”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭38‬:‭21‬
“But if you refuse to surrender” What’s keeping you from surrendering to the Lord? So often we look at our life and then the lives of the brothers and sisters around us and wonder what’s different. I have found the surrender is the difference. You can definitely tell those brothers and sisters that are living a surrendered life. God is calling us all to surrender, pick up at carry our cross, die to self, crucify the flesh, die to our wants and needs, die to our opinions, die to our “awesome knowledge” we think we have, etc……. Why do I refuse surrender?

01/06/2025

“Ebed-melech went from the king’s house and said to the king, “My Lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they did to Jeremiah the prophet by casting him into the cistern, and he will die there of hunger, for there is no bread left in the city.””
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭38‬:‭8‬-‭9‬
What kind of people do you have around you? This scripture this morning shows us that it is important who we have around us. We need people who will fight for us, support us, tell us when we are wrong, rescue us when we are drowning, stand up for us when we aren’t around or can’t stand up for ourselves. So often we have people in our circles just because society says they are suppose to be there, again doing things just because society or traditions says we have to, and again it’s detrimental to us. If we say that we are a believer, follower, disciple of Jesus then we must take inventory of those around us. Not everyone is suppose to be in your circle at your table. So look around and see what kind of folks are around you? Don’t give ANYONE a free pass, look at everyone, are they for you, will they stand up for you when you can’t stand up for yourself or will they just jump on with the crowd putting you down and talking bad about you?

01/04/2025

“Then the officials said to the king, “Let this man be put to death, for he is weakening the hands of the soldiers who are left in this city, and the hands of all the people, by speaking such words to them. For this man is not seeking the welfare of this people, but their harm.””
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭38‬:‭4‬
The truth is great but it also scares people. We don’t like to hear the truth because it cuts and stings. We also don’t want to speak the truth because it cuts and stings. Also speaking the truth will get you persecuted and that’s just among the religious crowd, the lost crowd will want to persecute you and cancel you. If you have ever read Jeremiah he was constantly just relaying what the Lord gave him to say, and folks didn’t want to hear it(sound familiar.) This is something that we need to understand as God leads us to speak the truth so often it’s His word people not like it, they will twist it that we are trying to bring harm, they will twist that we are being mean and hateful, they will twist it to make us that are just speaking the Word God has given to lol like the evil bad person, so they can remain in their sin comfortably. Sometimes it may fill lonely speaking the truth but there is a community of people that are actively being disciples(not just church goers or “Christians”) that are loving and speaking the truth with you. God has not given us a Spirit of fear.

“The sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have kept the command that their father gave them, but this people has not obeyed me.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭35‬:‭16‬
“but this people has not obeyed me” What keeps us from obeying God? I think the answer to this self. I know me personally I find myself obeying self, and when I find myself obeying self I can’t obey God. You see I like to obey because obeying self means I get to do what lines up with this flesh, what pleases this flesh, what intrigues this flesh, basically what I like. When I obey God this means I have to be obedient to something that doesn’t line up with me, so I have to line up with it, I don’t like that as much having to line to with something else, I want everything to line up with me. So today what’s keeping you from obeying God? Is it you, your desires, your wants, what you think?

01/02/2025

““Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Go and say to the people of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will you not receive instruction and listen to my words? declares the Lord. The command that Jonadab the son of Rechab gave to his sons, to drink no wine, has been kept, and they drink none to this day, for they have obeyed their father’s command. I have spoken to you persistently, but you have not listened to me.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭35‬:‭13‬-‭14‬
Can you receive instruction for God? Are we so full of “knowledge, wisdom,” and tradition we ca not receive instruction from God? We must be careful, sometimes we will allow the above listed things to get in the way of instruction from God. We serve a God that is alive and well, a God that communicates to His people, a God that is near to His people, so often He is trying to instruct us but “that can’t be right because it goes against everything my grandmother, grandfather, mom, dad, preacher, bible teacher,”etc….. has said and instructed me on. We must be intentional about or relationship with Him, that will lead to an intimate relationship with Him, that will lead to us not only hearing His instruction but having the courage through the Spirit to follow through with what He has instructed us on.

“I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear me forever, for their own good and the good of their children after them.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭32‬:‭39‬
The greatest fruit of a believer in Jesus and follower of Jesus is unity. This whole giving one heart isn’t just Old Testament stuff, those that believe in AND follow Jesus have the one heart of unity. If Gods children would ever unify the lost world would be flipped on its head. The enemy has done such a great job of dividing, causing destruction, and keeping apart the children of God, the lost will remain lost, why would they want to be apart of something that the people can’t even get along with each other. We have schools teaching that unity is wrong, we can’t agree and come together as the body of Christ because of “theological differences.” Something to think about as we enter a new year; Am I part of the problem or am I part of the solution? Is the congregation I am a part of part of the problem or part of the solution?

12/30/2024

“And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.””
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭31‬:‭34‬
I believe that guilt and shame is so prevalent among believers be cause we look at sin and the forgiveness of sin through our fleshly eyes instead of the through the eyes of God. I read several scriptures this morning that the just of the message was “I will remember their sin no more.”🤯 What a statement and promise God tries to communicate to us several times in the scripture. He says He will remember our sin no more when we come to Him for forgiveness. How much better would our life be and the relationships we are involved be if we would get this promise and believe it. 1. Guilt and shame wouldn’t have a place in your life because you know God has forgiven and forgotten your sin against Him. “I will cleanse them from all the guilt of their sin against me, and I will forgive all the guilt of their sin and rebellion against me.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭33‬:‭8‬
2. Your love, grace, mercy, and compassion for others would be where it needs to be because you truly forgive them for their sins and trespasses against you, you haven’t stored them away to bring them out every now and again to stir up anger and division, you have forgiven them as your Father has forgiven you and not remember them anymore. Talk about a spiritual gut punch for me this morning.
