Rev Janie Kelley’s message for Sunday:
“What I Learned From Edwene”
I first met Edwene more than 40 years ago. After hearing her speak for less than a minute, I thought to myself, “I want what she’s got!” After that first meeting, I followed her from a distance by reading her material and listening to her recordings. I called her “My mentor from afar.” She was amused by the title I gave her.

17 years ago, I called Edwene and asked her if she would agree to a more formal mentorship. She said, “Yes”. We met by phone every 2 weeks and occasionally in person. She taught me deep spiritual principles and how to apply them to my life. She mentored me with compassion, tough love and humor.

Edwene has been, and always will be, a positive influence and a beautiful bright light in my life. She helped me turn my life around during a very difficult time in my life.

It is my honor to share, with you, some of the teachings I learned from her.

Join Unity of Abilene at 11 am on August 30th for Rev Janie’s message and the music of Terri Knight.

All are invited to a potluck meal afterwards!

We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Unity minister Rev. Edwene Gaines.

Rev. Edwene dedicated her life to awakening abundance consciousness in the world, reminding us that true prosperity begins within.

As an ordained Unity minister since 1979 and the beloved author of "The Four Spiritual Laws of Prosperity", her teachings have inspired countless people to transform their relationship with God, giving, gratitude, and possibility.

We were honored to welcome Edwene to Unity on the Bay on several occasions, and her wisdom continues to influence our community and our understanding of spiritual prosperity.

Today, we hold her family, friends, students, and all whose lives she touched in prayer. We give thanks for her extraordinary legacy and celebrate a life devoted to love, faith, and the uplifting of humanity.
