Mission Abilene (Official)

Mission Abilene (Official) COME AS YOU ARE. LEAVE DIFFERENT. Our worship is free, exciting and non-traditional. Those 5 people were eager to learn about Jesus Christ.
(358)

We are a multi-denominational congregation with members from all social, economic, ethnic, educational and religious backgrounds. Our congregation is a body of Christ for individuals who desire freedom in worship no matter where they are in their spiritual walk. In 1996 in a little rundown backyard with 5 people either homeless or poor a Bible study was birthed by Mark Hewitt and Love and Care Min

istries. After 6 months of faithfully attending and faithfully inviting people to come this little Bible study grew to 30 people. In 1997 with the assistance of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church, a church was formed called The Mission. In April of 2004 Chad Mitchell became the lead pastor. Under his leadership The Mission continued to grow and grow, in fact grow so much that the sanctuary was maxed to capacity. As a result of God's blessing, in November of 2004 The Mission acquired a new building which was generously given by the Shelton Foundation. Today, it sits at the corner of Nth 3rd & Mockingbird in Abilene, Texas. Though our community gathering space has changed, our message has not. As you walk into the church you will see a sign that says A CHURCH OPEN TO ALL PEOPLE. As of January 2007 The Mission became an independent church, known as MISSION ABILENE solely depending on its community members for support. AVERAGE WEEKLY SCHEDULE:
Sunday, 10:45 am - Praise & Worship service (Praiseland Kids & our Youth meet together after the praise service during the sermon time. A nursery is provided for babies and toddlers birth-3 yrs old.) Tuesday, 6:30 pm - Celebrate Recovery
Wednesday, 6:00 pm - Women's UNTAMED Bible Study
Thursday, 7:00 pm - Thursday Evening Bible Study

Good morning Mission Abilene Family!!
Take time today to celebrate the good stuff in your life. If you are clean and sober today, give God the praise!!! If you have a roof over your head, give God the praise!!! If you had something to eat today, give God the praise!!!
Stop grumbling and complaining about what you don’t have, or what you didn’t get. Focus on what’s good about your life, the things that are right in front of you. Pray for those who are lost and looking in this world and give “Thanks in ALL circumstances “. Paul said in Philippians that this is truly the will of God in our lives.

We love you guys, but Jesus loves you MORE!!!
I’ll see you Sunday!!! Bring somebody with you!!!
Pastor Billy.

Today is Holy Saturday. The day after the crucifixion, the day after the suffering of our Savior, and the day before the Resurrection. It's a day of silence, of waiting. A day that's in between. A day where the disciples went into hiding, not knowing what was going to happen next.
And whether we admit it or not, most of us are familiar with these days. When we're waiting. Not knowing what tomorrow is going to bring. You see, we're familiar with the suffering, the pain, the misery. We know what to expect. We're also familiar with the victories, the celebrations, the mountain-top experience. But what happens when we're just waiting in the in-between?

Today, even though it appears God may be far away. It may appear God has forgotten you and your situation. It may even appear you are all alone in your circumstance. Just know Sunday is coming. A spiritual victory is unfolding even right now, while you're waiting. Sunday is coming.
Romans 8:24-25 says, "24 For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? 25 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently."

We love you, but Jesus loves you more.

Mission Family, please be in prayer for Nicolle Bardin and all of her family in the loss of her cousin after a long illness. We praise with them as they know that her victory has been won. She is walking and talking with Jesus and no longer in pain. But we grieve with them as they learn to live without her physical presence here. We pray for peace and comfort as they remember her and let her legacy shine through them.
