So I bashed someone’s car yesterday evening where it was parked at the gym. A Lexus 470. It had one light broken.
I felt so bad that the owner would come and meet the car in that state.
So I waited for about 40 minutes thinking the owner would come and apologize. After which I dropped him a note hanged on the car’s wiper.
Left in the note an apology with absolute regret and owning up to take responsibility. With my number included.
So I rode off with my TVs 125 Motor Bike . I got home and I was expecting a call from the car owner. No call came in throughout yesterday and I was worried.
Worried if the breeze had blown the note off or something. Was just so concern about the owner of the car.
So this morning a call came in. It was concerning the car. I apologized and explained how I waited to see if the owner would come around.
We conversed.
And It happened that if I had not left behind a note, the driver of that car would have lost his job. The owner of the car confirmed that to me.
It was the driver who took the car out and with tears brought him the note very late last night.
He said if not for the note, he would get him arrested, and also get him to pay for the light and then sack him because his salary can not buy the light.
I simply told him he shouldn’t do that. He said not any more since I am paying.
Decided that he would send his account details but later told me not to worry.
Right now, I am grateful to God for following his voice because my mistake would have cost someone his job—a father and husband. He would have been treated badly, while his kids and wife would be left saddened for whatever would have happened to their dad and husband.
