*THE GOD OF THIS AGE*
*2 CORINTHIANS 4:4*
*_Whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

The god of this age(world/aion) has blinded the minds and the inner eyes of the unbelievers so that they are unable to see the light that shines across the globe.
What God wants us to know is one; every aion has a god that rules over the unbelievers therein and that is why we are burdened by the burden of the Gospel to the degree that we cannot slumber till we bring men home.

The question is simple; how do we pluck out the lost men from the dungeon and shackles of the god of this age?
The formulae is as simple as preaching. The gospel shines in the dark, so we shouldn’t be afraid of the influence of darkness simply because the light shines and the darkness cannot understand it.

The mind of God is to outwit the enemy. That is why we are not ignorant of the whirls of the devil. When he (the enemy) thinks he has blinded men, the light shines even the more through the dear saints of the Lord.
What more can we say because out-rightly speaking, the whole world should come to the saving knowledge of Christ.

*_You are the light of the world, a city set on a hill can not be hid.

Let me bring your attention to one of those very pertinent things that happen in and around our world,
one of them is culture and seasons/times. The cultures are influenced by the ideologies and precepts that have been employed by various communities. These range from religious to non –religious philosophies.

The word world is translated *_kosmos and aion in the Bible. Kosomos reflects the moral setup of a community or regions of the nations of the world. In this case, we have different cultures that have influenced and shaped the lifestyle of the people. By and large, the Gospel came to influence the kosmos. That is why He said the propitiation is not only for us but also for the world (kosmos).

The word aion reflects the times that different events that shape the kosmos must happen. So aion speaks to times and seasons while kosmos speaks to beliefs and cultures and the church is mandated to light all of them up.

Hallelujah.
Every culture, times and seasons are under the influence of the church.

*_You are the light of the world, a city set on an hill cannot be hid.

While the enemy was happy that the ultimate light had ascended to Heaven, little did he know that a flame of fire was instituted to carry the mantle of lighting up the whole world. Friends, we are not just humans in this world, we are literally lights and we carry the mantle that Christ left behind. When it comes to darkness, we are the dear solution to the world.

On top of being the light, we are also a city. Not just cities. The whole Church is the light and a city. Everything called Church is a city. There is no entity that defines unity like the Church of Jesus Christ does. We are not a hidden entity for we have been exposed to the world so that we offer the light that hails from God. Therefore, I am sure that Church is the only center of solutions.

If you look at the letter Paul wrote to the *_1 Corinthians 10:32
*_“Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:” _*
The Church outshines any entity of influence because all the rest give ideas that try to be appealing to mankind, yet the Church gives the very light that lights up every man that comes into the world. Paul clearly tells us that the Church of God despises all the Jewish and Greek civilisations.

Friends, I would like to make a submission in regards to our Lord and Savior; there are some truths which are not requests or require our opinion. The statement that our daddy makes here is an announcement that requires no opinion or objection. He said *_as long as am in the world and did you know that He will be with us in this world till the end of time?

Satan has no space to max around.

If He is in the world, He dictates the course of action, did you know that darkness has an indefinite suspension is as long as our Lord is enthroned, for this course was the son of man manifested that He destroy the works of the evil one. Darkness was flashed by the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Regarding the unrest in the world, Jesus had no debate about it. That is why in the prior scripture, He talked of how He has come to work the works of His father and the subsequent scripture He healed a blind man.
This man had no time to gag around with the mandate given Him by God. You too can choose to shine in this dark world. God has anointed us for exploits

*_I do not ask thee to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them in the truth; Thy word is truth. As Thou didst send Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth. I do not ask in behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; that they may all be one; even as Thou, Father, art in Me, and I in Thee, that they also may be in Us; that the world may believe that Thou didst send Me.”_*

The priestly prayer that our Lord made was and is a game changer. He never prayed for us to be taken out of the world but that we be kept out of the evil in this world. He knew that we had a course to do and a race to run in this world; wnning souls for the kingdom. This is the only reason why we are in this world.

Our directive is lighting every man that comes into the world and showing them the way because the whole world is lost and have no redemption a part from that of Jesus and that is the ultimatum for our existence. We are not of the world but are in the world for a noble cause. Lighting up the world; the end result is for the world to believe.

When Paul apostle tells us that we are ambassadors, he simply suggests that we are here from another country and we wholly represent the interests of our country. We are not to be entangled with the indulgencies of this world. Our mission is to enlighten the world and there is no turning back.

*HOW TO KEEP THE LIGHT ON-THE WISE VIRGINS*
*PSALMS 119:130*
*_The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.

Let’s talk about the five wise and five foolish virgins in the book of *_Mathew 25_* because there is a mystery of maintaining the light and keeping it burning. The light and the candle are two different entities, do you believe that you can have a candle that bears no light by reason of lack of fuel, food for thought ? we have seen ministers that have no light but have candles(preaching without a message) yet there are also those who have the light but carry no candle(preaching without foundation/spiritual cover) so you are sure the light will be short-lived.

The five wise virgins carried oil with them for just in case. Friends, it takes oil for us to tarry till the coming of the groom. The groom will come any time but if the church slumbers then she shall be found wanting,.
The groom is light oriented and so it takes lit brides to tarry till the end. The oil (anointing) is the light keeper.

If we are not oil oriented then we can never be light oriented. The anointing is what fuels ministry, we shall soon burn out if we don’t learn to liaise with the anointing (oil). The secret of divine glow is in the oil/the anointing.
