BACK GROUND
Faith Discipleship ministries International (FAMI) is a Christian organization, an Inter-racial and Interdenominational Christian Ministry. The founder of FAMI Samson Basome after having served as a missions coordinator under Busoga missions team 1996-2005 to different districts in Busoga region like Iganga, Kaliro, Mayuge, Bugiri among others through evangelism and discipleship and a
coordinator for Missions and prayer ministries Iganga Archdeaconry since 2006 to 2013 Under HESED Ministries International. He made an evaluation by following up the brethrens and the work done in different districts were the missions have been conducted to discover that some areas no fellowships are going on and many brethren had backslidden. In his research and consultation with the brethren who had been converted to Christianity almost had the same complain that; they were not helped to grow spiritually. The pastors who used to nurture them in the fellowship stopped and even some of their Lay-readers they don’t have time for the fellowships to enable them grow in the word. Realizing that the Discipleship is not properly done which has contributed to backslide of some brethrens, the gross moral decay and disintegration that has led to high rates of crime in Uganda today, the deteriorating discipline in schools envisaged in the frequent strikes, burning of schools, high school drop out rates, and failure of school stake holders, politicians, and religious leaders to execute their roles well in schools and observing the rampant social upheavals such as Human sacrifice, Domestic violence, Child abuse among others;
In 2013 Samson Basome the founder of FAMI shared his burden with some brethren who later agreed and started an organization called Faith Discipleship ministries International (FAMI) in responding to human physical, economical, social and spiritual needs and for the Restoration of the spiritual and social image of our Nation. It started as a community based organization registered with Iganga District community Development office and operated with in the District of Iganga with the aim of carrying out Evangelism and Discipleship among others in partnership with Missions and Prayer ministries Iganga Archdeaconry. In 2014 Faith Discipleship ministries was transformed into a national program and registered as the Agency with the acronym “FAMI”. This follows re-organization and re-branding to take care of the growing demand to meet the over changing of spiritual, physical, emotional and social economic welfare of people in the community and those serving in the church in the fulfillment of the great commission at both community and national level. The targeted areas with in the first six years are as follows: 2014 – 2017 include: some Districts in the Eastern region of Uganda and 2018 – 2021 some Districts in the Northern region of Uganda. FAMI programme target Non-believers, church leaders, Political leaders, Young people with in and out side the school, young married, singles, Proffessionals among others. The programmes are modified to the needs of each of the above groups and targeted differently. Mission
To seek, find and nurture others for Christ through evangelism outreaches and consistent and life long discipleship programmes such as small nurture groups as well as undertake social-economic welfare interventions for the realization of the holistic mission of Christ”. Vision

Faith Discipleship ministries International (FAMI) activities among others will include:
• Undertake Evangelism, Discipleship and Leadership training initiatives.
• Carry out guidance and counseling to families, couples, vulnerable groups like OVCs, widows, Persons living with HIV/AIDS and people affected by various life crises etc.
• Provision of support to the needy and disadvantaged Persons like Orphans, Widow, elderly among others.
• Provide education support to the needy and disadvantaged children.
• Establishment of adult literacy programs and practical skills development initiatives.
• Undertake Community based Social-economic welfare improvement initiatives such as self help projects like tailoring, commercial farming and other technical skills
• Creation of health awareness and implementation of health improvement projects.
• Carry out environmental conservation initiatives.
• Organize specific days for fasting, prayer and intercession.
• Reduce poverty by development of social support network and promotion of such initiatives like Savings and Cooperative societies (SACCOs), income generating activities, emergence response initiatives such as burial groups, etc.
• Counseling, healing and Deliverance
Objectives: The major objectives for FAMI among others are:
1. To reach out to the community through evangelism and Discipleship with the Gospel of Jesus Christ to build the spiritual life of the beneficiaries as a way of fulfilling the great commission. To provide guidance and counseling to vulnerable groups like Orphans, widows, Persons living with HIV/AIDS and other psycho-social challenges in addition to marital and family counseling.
3. To undertake community based socio-economic welfare improvement projects such as Tailoring, commercial farming, carpentry and other technical skills targeting venerable groups such as widows, orphans, elderly and the underprivileged.
4. To offer education support to vulnerable and disadvantaged children with a high academic potential at various levels such as primary, secondary and vocational skills training.
5. To reduce poverty by development of social support networks and promotion of such initiatives like Savings and Cooperative societies (SACCOs), income generating activities, emergence response initiatives such as burial groups, etc.
6. To enhance the productivity of the less educated rural communities through adult literacy programs and related practical skills development initiatives.
7. To improve on the state of health particularly in rural communities through the creation of health awareness and implementation of health improvement projects in primary health care, family planning, management of common illnesses, among others.
8. To promote environmental protection and conservation by sensitizing communities on the need and the most appropriate way to conserve the environment.
9. To transform the community through Leadership trainings, fasting, prayer and intercession. Qualification for Membership of the Organization
To qualify for membership a person must:
Have a big heart for Christian Ministry or love people in general, easily relating with them without hindrance resulting from infirmity of body or mind. Be honest and committed to the aims and objectives of the organization
Be a person who has not been convicted in the court of law or has committed any other criminal offence. Active membership shall be subject to payment of membership fees as shall be determined by the General Assembly from time to time. Membership shall also be tenable if a prospective member is eighteen (18) years of age or above and of sound mind. Rules of Membership and Conferring of Membership. Any person aspiring to become a member of FAMI shall fill in the prescribed membership forms issued by the Secretary to the Board. All members are required to participate actively and responsibly in the programmes of the organization. All members shall be required to sign FAMI’s Statement of Faith and must pledge allegiance to the Organization, seeking to commit themselves to achieving the objectives of FAMI. Anyone whose membership is approved shall be issued with an appropriate certificate of membership which must bear the logo and seal of the organization. Collaborating partners
