The Rt. Rev. Enos Kitto Kagodo, the 5th Bishop of Mukono Diocese, has officially opened and consecrated _St . Paul Church of Uganda, Kituntu,_ in Kikakanya Parish, Ngogwe Archdeaconry, Mukono Diocese.

The Bishop also confirmed *84 Christians into the Anglican faith and subsequently commissioned the newly constructed Lay Readers’ House.

Bishop Kagodo congratulated the Christians of Kituntu for their dedication in constructing the House of God. He commended the confirmation candidates for their perseverance in reaching this milestone. He also thanked the godparents and parents for their devoted support throughout the candidates’ spiritual journey.

Turning to the newly built Lay Reader’s house, _Bishop Kagodo_commended the congregation for constructing a residence that honors God. “When a person builds a home for a servant of God, they are nurturing that servant’s spiritual life; therefore, I am greatly pleased,” he said.

The Bishop further urged them to continue safeguarding Church land diligently and to remain vigilant against land grabbers. _“ Christians, wherever you have been lenient, they have taken the land; therefore, guard it well and be vigilant,”_ he said.

In his sermon, under the theme " _Hope in Christ the promise keeper"_ Bishop Kagodo challenged believers on the question: _“ Why do we place our hope in God?”_ He reminded them that God alone is unchanging, the Worker of Miracles, and the One who has power to protect His people. “He knows the schemes of your enemies,” the Bishop said. He urged Christians to understand that the Lord deeply treasures the life He has redeemed.

He concluded by asking the Christians of Kituntu to maintain the new Church in a state of cleanliness and to establish a viable income-generating project that will sustain the Lord’s ministry.

Following the sermon, more than 50 people came forward to profess faith in Christ. Rev.Joshua Lujja committed their lives to salvation, and Bishop Kagodo* prayed for them and pronounced a blessing upon them.

The Archdeacon of Ngogwe, *Rev. Canon Stephen Kironde, expressed his joy at the people of Kituntu for building the church. He noted that the church they have constructed is a testament to the faith they have in God

In his remarks, Rev. Michael Muwemba,Parish Priest of Kikakanya, reported to the Bishop that the parish has successfully established and maintained a forest dedicated to Bishopp Kagodo,_ with plans to plant an additional acre of trees. He further indicated that clergy and lay reader houses have been constructed around the parish and presented the 2026 Parish Work plan, which was recently approved by the Parish Council.

Rev. Muwemba also disclosed that the parish is organizing a leadership training seminar for newly elected church leaders and intends to install a rainwater harvesting tank to improve water access.

Addressing the congregation, Maama Catherine Kitto urged the faithful to increase their giving to the Lord so that they may receive His blessing. She thanked those who contributed wholeheartedly to the construction of the church. She also exhorted the newly confirmed to prioritize their Christian responsibilities while remaining grounded in the teachings they have received.

MUKONO BISHOP CONFIRMS 50 AT NJERU, PREACHES ‘HOPE IN CHRIST THE PROMISE KEEPER’

NJERU – BUIKWE: More than 50 Christians were confirmed into the Anglican faith today at St. Stephen’s Church of Uganda, Njeru Parish, Nakibizzi Archdeaconry, by the Bishop of Mukono Diocese, Rt. Rev. Enos Kitto Kagodo.

Njeru Parish Priest Rev. Henry Kamya Katumba Ssalongo said the parish has made significant progress by God’s grace, commending Christians for sustaining ministry. He cited the ongoing construction of the new parish church headquarters as the major current project.

Ssalongo Katumba noted that the Gospel has been faithfully proclaimed and “yielded abundant fruit.” The parish has also elected new church leaders under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and he pledged to ensure they receive comprehensive training in sound doctrine and proper Church practice.

Nakibizzi Archdeacon Ven. Canon Robert Kiwanuka Mulinde presented some of the archdeaconry’s newly elected leaders to the Bishop.

He reported that ministry in the archdeaconry has started well, especially in mobilizing Christians to establish churches in various communities.

Bishop Kagodo congratulated the new leaders and urged them to build on the foundation laid by their predecessors, commending outgoing leaders for exemplary service. He thanked Njeru Christians for supporting the new Mukono Diocesan Cathedral construction, saying the project “will bring distinction to the Diocese and further glorify God.”

He also appreciated their care for clergy and their participation as he marked 30 years of marriage and three years of episcopal ministry as the third Bishop of Mukono.

In his sermon, Bishop Kagodo reminded Christians of this year’s diocesan theme: “Christ is our peace and has made us one” (Ephesians 2:14).

Preaching from Numbers 23:16-26, he recounted how King Balak hired the prophet Balaam to curse Israel, but God instructed Balaam to speak only what He commanded.

Despite sacrifices and changing locations, Balaam blessed Israel each time, declaring: “God is not a man, that He should lie. If He has blessed, no one can reverse it. No spell or curse can work against God’s people.”

Lesson: When God pronounces blessing over you, no enemy, fear, or inducement can revoke it. God does not lie or change His mind.

On the week’s theme, “Hope in Christ the Promise Keeper,” the Bishop urged the congregation to receive Christ as Savior, for He alone secures our promises and the life redeemed by the Lord is sealed by the Holy Spirit.

“Some people harbour doubts, but I appeal to all of you today to believe in accordance with God’s counsel so He may fulfil His promises to you,” he said.

“Our God does not change, deceive, or waver like mortals. He alone turns evil into blessing and fights our battles.”

Following the sermon, more than 30 people came forward to profess faith in Christ. Rev. Babra Nakityo Kkoosi presented them, and Bishop Kagodo prayed for them and pronounced a blessing.

As he confirmed and commissioned the candidates, Bishop Kagodo exhorted them not to depart from their church and urged them to serve the Lord and proclaim the Gospel so others may come to salvation. He reminded them of the Third Commandment.

Maama Catherine Kitto, the Bishop’s wife, encouraged the newly confirmed to remain steadfast in their vows and adhere to the teaching received, so they may mature into strong Christians who contribute meaningfully to the nation.

She urged the congregation to continue confessing God as Lord, for He stands ready to work in their lives.
