*UCU Trains Clergy and Spouses in North Mbale Diocese*

16th June, 2025|Sironko

Uganda Christian University (UCU) has continued to strengthen its partnership with the Church of Uganda through capacity building initiatives.

In a one-day retreat held in Sironko at the North Mbale Diocese, UCU facilitated a training for clergy and their spouses aimed at improving their missional efficiency and capacity for service. The session was led by Rev. Dr. Richard Mulindwa, who emphadised the university’s commitment to closely work with the Church.

“This is part of the university’s commitment to building capacity for our clergy and church workers. We value our relationship with the church because we are a church-founded university,” said Rev. Dr. Mulindwa.

He further appreciated the diocese for its support through UCU Sunday contributions and for fostering a strong partnership with the university.

The Diocesan Bishop was represented by Bishop Colins Andaku, who commended UCU for its consistent support in theological education and ongoing collaborations with dioceses across the province.

Well done, UCU and UCU Church Relations Department.

*UCU Hosts Clergy Children's Fellowship to Strengthen Faith and Community*

On 25 February 2025, Uganda Christian University (UCU) hosted the Clergy Children's Fellowship, a gathering designed to foster a supportive community where clergy children could share their experiences, uplift one another, and strengthen their faith.

Organized and coordinated by the Church Relations Department, the event brought together participants from all the 39 dioceses of the Church of Uganda, creating a space for unity and spiritual growth.

In his address, Rev. Brian Muhereza, Associate Dean of Bishop Tucker School of Divinity and Theology, emphasized the importance of unity among clergy children. He urged them to embrace their unique identity, find strength in their shared experiences, and support one another in their spiritual journeys.

Rev. Dr. Richard Mulindwa, Manager of Church Relations, expressed deep appreciation to UCU's Vice Chancellor, acknowledging his unwavering commitment to clergy families. He encouraged the attendees to lead by example, uphold discipline, and prioritize their studies as a way of honoring both their calling and family legacy.

Commending the Church Relations Department for its vision, Bishop Dr. Joel Obetia proposed making the fellowship a weekly event to further strengthen the bond among clergy children. He emphasized the need for consistent support in both their spiritual and academic growth.

The fellowship was well attended by clergy children from all over Uganda, representing the 39 dioceses of the province. This event reinforced the significance of faith, education, and community in shaping the next generation of Christian leaders.
