THE CORNET DAILY DEVOTIONAL

THE GLORY OF GOD IS A DEFENCE

Sunday 2nd August, 2026
Pastor David Omongole

“And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defence.” (Isaiah 4:5 KJV)

The Lord will create upon every dwelling place of Mount Zion… this means Zion has more than one dwelling place. Whichever part of Zion you are, the glory of God is your defence.

God’s glory is also a defence upon the assemblies of Zion; that is the churches, fellowships, cells and families. As one who is born again, “…you are come unto mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem…” (Hebrews 12:22 KJ2000) When you gather with your family in the name of the Lord, that is a Zion assembly.

Upon every dwelling place of mount Zion and upon her assemblies, the Lord shall create a cloud and smoke by day and the shining of a flaming fire by night. “And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain.” (Isaiah 4:6 KJV)

He is not just talking about physical weather, there is a spiritual covering over you. When the heat comes, you are shielded. When the storm comes, you are shielded. When the rain comes, you are shielded. Glory to God!

CONFESSION
The glory of God is my defence. I am protected and preserved on every side. I am shielded from the heat. I am shielded from storms. I am shielded from rain. I am heavily defended every hour of every day. The Lord is my refuge and my fortress. His truth is my shield and buckler. Hallelujah!

FURTHER STUDY
Psalms 91:1-4 KJ2000
He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. (2) I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. (3) Surely he shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence. (4) He shall cover you with his feathers, and under his wings shall you trust: his truth shall be your shield and buckler.

Jeremiah 17:7-8 KJV
Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. (8) For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

THE CORNET DAILY DEVOTIONAL

YOU ARE HOLY

Saturday 1st August, 2026
Pastor David Omongole

“And it shall come to pass, that he that is left in Zion, and he that remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem: When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning” (Isaiah 4:3-4 KJV)

If you are born again, you have come to mount Zion, the heavenly Jerusalem. Therefore you are holy, you are a saint. The Spirit of burning has made you holy. In other places in the Bible, this is referred to as baptism with fire. Baptism with fire is the ministry of the Holy Spirit which makes you holy.

When the prophet Isaiah saw the Lord in a vision, he said “…Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts. Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.” (Isaiah 6:5-7 KJV) When the angel put the live coal on the mouth of Isaiah, his iniquity was taken away and his sin was purged. His lips which were unclean before were made holy.

In Acts chapter two when the disciples were gathered together in one accord, “…there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” (Acts 2:3-4 KJV) Baptism of fire took place that day and made them holy.

Whenever a person gets born again, the fire of the Holy Ghost touches them and they become holy. Their iniquity is taken away and their sin is purged. From that day onwards, they are holy. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION
I am patterned after God in righteousness and true holiness. The Holy Spirit dwells in me. Therefore I am holy. I am a saint. I am forever completely cleansed and perfected. Glory to God! The Lord works in me the willingness and the ability to manifest this holiness. Hallelujah!

THE CORNET DAILY DEVOTIONAL

THE GLORY OF GOD

Friday 31st July, 2026
Pastor David Omongole

“And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.” (2 Corinthians 3:18 AMP)

When you look into a mirror, you see yourself. Now the Scripture says when we look into the mirror of God's Word, we see "the glory of the Lord". That means the church is the glory of God.

Acts 7:55 tells us that when Stephen looked into heaven he saw “the glory of God” and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. He saw “the church” and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.

As the church of Jesus Christ, we are God's glory, His beauty incarnate, called to show forth His excellences in the world. See yourself as God sees you and you will grow from glory to glory, grace to grace, beauty to beauty, and success to success in the name of the Lord Jesus.

CONFESSION
My Father God is the Father of glory. Therefore, I am glory! I show forth the virtues and perfections of God who called me out of darkness into His marvelous light. I reveal the beauty and splendour of the Lord everywhere I go. I am part of the church, the fullness of God through which He fills everything everywhere with His presence. Hallelujah!

1 Peter 2:9 AMP
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God's] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

THE CORNET DAILY DEVOTIONAL

BE GENEROUS

Thursday 30th July, 2026
Pastor David Omongole

“And you Philippians yourselves well know that in the early days of the Gospel ministry, when I left Macedonia, no church (assembly) entered into partnership with me and opened up [a debit and credit] account in giving and receiving except you only. For even in Thessalonica you sent [me contributions] for my needs, not only once but a second time. Not that I seek or am eager for [your] gift, but I do seek and am eager for the fruit which increases to your credit [the harvest of blessing that is accumulating to your account].” (Philippians 4:15-17 AMP)

When you partner with the work of God, every blessing that results from the work that you gave for is counted on your account. Let’s say you gave for a crusade, when people give their lives to Christ on that crusade, it is credited to your account. When people are aligned to their purpose in the conference you gave for, it is credited to your account. When people get healed in the special miracles night you gave for, it is credited to your account.

Be generous in the house of God. Your generosity is one of the things which proves that you have committed everything about your life to God. Most people spend a lot of time at their work places. They work from Monday to Friday, and in some cases Saturdays and Sundays too. What you get for the time you invest at work is money. When you use that money to give in the house of God, you prove that your time is committed to the Lord.

“One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.” (Proverbs 11:24-25 NIV) Make it your practice to give freely and generously. If you have been giving 1,000/= 2,000/= or 5,000/= as your offering in every service, change it. As the Lord increases you financially, increase your giving. You can even increase your giving by faith as you trust God to manifest abundance of wealth. You will prosper and gain much more!

CONFESSION
I am a dependable and generous giver in the house of God. I prepare abundantly and give wholeheartedly to the Lord. I excel in the grace of giving, just as I excel in faith, speech, knowledge, diligence and love. I am a reliable partner in the house of God. Hallelujah!

FURTHER STUDY
Proverbs 3:9-10 AMP
Honor the Lord with your capital and sufficiency [from righteous labors] and with the firstfruits of all your income; (10) So shall your storage places be filled with plenty, and your vats shall be overflowing with new wine.

2 Corinthians 8:7 NIV
But just as you excel in everything--in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us--see that you also excel in this grace of giving.

THE CORNET DAILY DEVOTIONAL

INTERPRET CORRECTLY

Wednesday 29th July, 2026
Pastor David Omongole

“However, their minds were hardened, for to this day the same veil is still there when they read the old covenant. Only in union with the Messiah is that veil removed. Yet even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. But whenever a person turns to the Lord, the veil is removed.” (2 Corinthians 3:14-16 ISV)

People often ask, “Is giving tithe, first fruit or seed relevant in the New Testament?” Certainly! Whenever Paul the apostle taught on giving or finances, he quoted Old Testament Scriptures. In 1 Timothy 5:17-18, he said, “Let the elders who perform the duties of their office well be considered doubly worthy of honor [and of adequate financial support], especially those who labor faithfully in preaching and teaching. For the Scripture says, You shall not muzzle an ox when it is treading out the grain…” (AMP) He quoted this from Deuteronomy 25:4.

2 Corinthians 9:9-10 says “(As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever. Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)” (KJV) Verse nine is quoted from Psalm 112:9 and verse ten from Isaiah 55:10.

In Matthew 23:23, Jesus said, “Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cu**in, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.” (KJV) Jesus was basically telling them that they should have exercised justice, mercy and faith in addition to giving their tithe.

All Scriptures were written by the inspiration of God. Whenever you read Scriptures in the Old Testament section of your Bible, interpret them with the revelation of Christ and they will be profitable to you.

CONFESSION
As I study the Word of God, the Holy Spirit teaches me. He gives me revelation in the knowledge of God. My mind is open to comprehend the message of Christ throughout the Scriptures. The Word of God is profitable to me for doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness. I am perfect and entire, lacking nothing. I am well equipped for every good work. Hallelujah!

FURTHER STUDY
2 Timothy 3:16-17 KJV
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: (17) That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

1 Corinthians 9:9-10 KJV
For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? (10) Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope.

THE CORNET DAILY DEVOTIONAL

GIVE TITHES AND OFFERINGS

Tuesday 28th July, 2026
Pastor David Omongole

“Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return? Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.” (Malachi 3:7-8 KJV)

When you see a Scripture in the Old Testament section of your Bible, do not disregard it saying it is the law. For example the book of Malachi is not part of the law of Moses (it was not written by Moses). Jesus said, “…everything which is written concerning Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” (Luke 24:44 AMP) Malachi is among the books of the prophets.

God told the people to return to Him by giving their tithes and offerings. “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” (Matthew 6:21 KJV) If you desire to serve God with all your heart, you must have the right doctrine concerning giving in the house of God. When you put your treasure in the work of the ministry, your heart will be in the work of the ministry. You will be consistent and committed in your service to the Lord and His people.

Some people have been taught to give their tithe to the poor - that is not consistent with the Scriptures. The tithe belongs to God and He receives it in His house. God supplies you with more than enough for your tithes, offerings, partnerships and your giving to the needy as well. You can be furnished in abundance for every good work. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION
I cheerfully honour the Lord with my substance. I give my tithes and offerings with faith, hope and love. My offering is like the odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable and well pleasing to God. I am furnished in abundance for every good work. Hallelujah!

FURTHER STUDY
2 Corinthians 9:8 AMP
And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation].

Hebrews 7:8 KJV
And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.

THE CORNET DAILY DEVOTIONAL

TITHE

Monday 27th July, 2026
Pastor David Omongole

“Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” (Malachi 3:10 KJV)

One of the principles for manifesting prosperity God’s way is generosity. Your generosity starts in the house of God. Our theme Scripture exhorts us to give tithe. What is tithe? The Amplified describes it as the whole tenth of your income. Tithe is not the amount that you decide to give as tithe. It is a tenth of what you receive, that is ten percent. If you receive 1,000,000/=, the tithe is 100,000/=

“Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.” (Malachi 3:8-9 KJV) In the New Testament, one is not cursed for not giving tithe because Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law (Galatians 3:13).

But when you give tithes diligently, you enjoy the blessing of the Lord. The devourer is rebuked for your sake, “…he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts. And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts.” (Malachi 3:11-12 KJV) Hallelujah!

CONFESSION
I cheerfully and faithfully give God the first and best of all my increase. I give tithes of all as a witness that the Lord Jesus is alive. I acknowledge the Lord in all my ways by honouring Him with my substance. My storage places overflow with plenty. Hallelujah!

FURTHER STUDY
Leviticus 27:30 KJV
And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD'S: it is holy unto the LORD.

Luke 11:42 NIV
Woe to you Pharisees, because you give God a tenth of your mint, rue and all other kinds of garden herbs, but you neglect justice and the love of God. You should have practiced the latter without leaving the former undone.

THE CORNET DAILY DEVOTIONAL

WORK

Sunday 26th July, 2026
Pastor David Omongole

“I walked by the field of a lazy person, the vineyard of one lacking sense. I saw that it was overgrown with thorns. It was covered with weeds, and its walls were broken down. Then, as I looked and thought about it, I learned this lesson: A little extra sleep, a little more slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest –and poverty will pounce on you like a bandit; scarcity will attack you like an armed robber. (Proverbs 24:30-34 NLT)

From this portion of Scripture, we see that oversleeping is a sign of laziness. And laziness brings poverty. If you desire to manifest great wealth, you should not be waking up at 10:00am. While you are sleeping, a lot is happening. Are you aware that by 10:00am, some people are returning from work? They have finished business for the day.

If you have been sleeping too much, change it. Wake up early, pray and study your Bible. Then get to work. Even if you do not have a formal job, dress up well and take a walk. Find out where people are going to work and go there too. See how they are making money.

The Lord needs something in your hands to bless. Go out and do something, the Lord will bless it and cause it to multiply. “Whatever turns up, grab it and do it. And heartily!…” (Ecclesiastes 9:10 MSG) Do not say, “I don't have capital.” Step out in faith. “The LORD will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands….” (Deuteronomy 28:12 NIV) Hallelujah!

CONFESSION
I have the grace to work diligently. The works of my hands are blessed. I am efficient in my work and business. I am excellent in all I do. I produce the desired results in time. Everything I touch prospers. Glory to God!

FURTHER STUDY
2 Thessalonians 3:10-12 NLT
Even while we were with you, we gave you this rule: "Whoever does not work should not eat." (11) Yet we hear that some of you are living idle lives, refusing to work and wasting time meddling in other people's business. (12) In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we appeal to such people – no, we command them: Settle down and get to work. Earn your own living.

Proverbs 6:6-11 ISV
Go to the ant, you lazy man! Observe its ways and become wise. (7) It has no commander, officer, or ruler (8) but prepares its provisions in the summer and gathers its food in the harvest. (9) How long will you lie down, lazy man? When will you get up from your sleep? (10) A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, (11) and your poverty will come on you like a bandit and your desperation like an armed man.
