Today, the Catholic Women's Guild gathered at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Parish, Matuga, in a spirit of faith, unity, and service. The Blessed Virgin Mary appeared 18 times to a 14-year-old girl named St. Bernadette Soubirous between:
First apparition: 11 February 1858
Last apparition: 16 July 1858
Some important events during the apparitions include:
25 February 1858: Mary instructed Bernadette to drink and wash at a spring, which became the famous Lourdes healing spring.

25 March 1858: Mary revealed her identity, saying, "I AM THE IMMACULATECONCEPTION" ("Que soy era Immaculada Councepciou" in the local dialect).
The Catholic Church investigated the events and officially approved the apparitions in 1862. Today, Lourdes is one of the world's most important Catholic pilgrimage sites, attracting millions of pilgrims each year.
