Luke 23:43. It’s something Jesus Christ says while he is being crucified.
The context
Jesus is being crucified alongside two criminals. One of them defends him and asks to be remembered. Jesus responds with that statement.
What it means
In simple terms:
“I assure you” → A promise, something certain.
“Today” → Immediately, not in some distant future.
“You will be with me” → The person will be in Jesus’ presence.
“In paradise” → A place of peace, often understood as heaven or a blessed afterlife.
The core idea
Jesus is telling the man: 👉 Even though you’re dying right now, you will enter a peaceful, eternal life with me.
Why it’s important
People often see this as showing:
Forgiveness is possible even at the last moment
Faith matters more than past mistakes
There is hope beyond death
Different Christian groups interpret “paradise” and “today” a bit differently, but the main message stays the same: comfort, mercy, and a promise of life after death.

suddenly the curtain of the sanctuary was split in two from top to bottom,the earth quaked and the rocks were split.

There must be somethings to be split in our lives,rolled away,moved away as we remember death and resurrection of Jesus 🙏.

Most of opportunities must open 👐 for us as as well tombs to swallow our sorrows, problems,etc

we must rise with Jesus 🙏 to get restoration,

Good Friday service at Nyaibanda Full Gospel church

Sermon Title: “From Denial to Restoration”
Main Text: Luke 22:54–62

Today, we reflect on one of the most human moments in the Bible—the denial of Jesus by His own disciple, Peter the Apostle.

Peter was bold, passionate, and deeply committed to Jesus Christ. He once declared, “Lord, I am ready to go with you to prison and to death!” Yet, just hours later, he denied even knowing Him.

This story is not just about failure—it’s about grace, repentance, and restoration.

1. Confidence Without Prayer Leads to Failure.
*Before the denial, Peter was full of confidence. He believed he was strong enough to stand firm. But when Jesus asked him to pray, Peter slept.

Lesson:
Spiritual strength doesn’t come from confidence—it comes from dependence on God.
Sometimes we say:
“I would never do that.”
“My faith is strong.”
But without prayer, we become vulnerable.

2. Fear Can Make Us Forget Who We Are.
*When Peter was confronted, fear took over:
A servant girl recognized him.
Others accused him of being with Jesus.
And Peter said:
“I don’t know Him.”
Fear of people made him forget his identity as a disciple.

Lesson:
Fear can silence our faith.

*Even today, we may deny Christ not with words, but with actions:
Staying silent when truth is needed
Compromising values to fit in
Being ashamed of our faith

3. One Look from Jesus Changes Everything.
*After the third denial, the rooster crowed. And the Bible says:
“The Lord turned and looked straight at Peter.”
Imagine that moment. Not a look of anger—but a look of truth and love.
Peter remembered Jesus’ words—and he wept bitterly.

Lesson:
Conviction is not condemnation.

Jesus doesn’t expose us to destroy us—but to restore us.

4. Failure Is Not the End of Your Story
*Peter failed—but that was not his final chapter.
Later, in John 21, Jesus restored him:
Three denials → Three affirmations of love
“Do you love me?” → “Feed my sheep”
Peter went on to become a bold leader in the ear
