CENTRAL UGANDA CONFERENCE LAUNCHES ONE VOICE 2027 ADVENTIST RUN.

‎With just two months to go, the President of the Central Uganda Conference, Pr. Ssimwogerere David has called upon church members to intensify awareness of the One Voice 2027 Adventist Run across all media platforms to encourage as many people as possible to participate.

‎During the launch and press conference, the President stated that the run is part of the broader One Voice 2027 Evangelistic Campaign, an initiative commemorating 2,000 years since the baptism of Jesus Christ.

‎The campaign aims to remind people of Christ's gift of salvation, with a special emphasis on reaching young people through media evangelism.

‎Slated for 13 September 2026, the run will begin at Prime Radio and feature 5km and 10km routes as the main categories, while a smaller group of participants will take on the 21km challenge.
> One Voice 2027 Adventist Run kits are available at only UGX 30,000 at different pick-up locations, including Hope Channel offices and CUC offices, among others

‎One of the organizers, Jasper, encouraged participants to begin training early, noting that the route includes the challenging Kireka Hill, which requires adequate preparation.

‎The run will also raise funds to support the Central Uganda Conference Media Centre to strengthen its mission of using media to proclaim the gospel.

‎The president described the event as the first of several activities planned under the One Voice 2027 campaign, all aimed at sharing the message of Christ with the community.

‎He also urged members to turn out in large numbers, emphasizing that the event presents an opportunity to proclaim Christ while embracing the benefits of physical fitness.

*FROM DISPLACEMENT TO DIGNITY*
*World Refugee Day* – 20 June 2026
*Key Verse*

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in." — Matthew 25:35 (NIV)

Today, as the world commemorates World Refugee Day, we remember the millions of people whose lives have been shattered by war, persecution and violence. Uganda continues to be one of the world's most welcoming refugee-hosting nations, providing refuge to more than 2 million refugees and asylum seekers from 34 countries. More than half have fled the conflict in South Sudan, while nearly one-third escaped the devastating war in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Most are women and children, and over 90 percent live in refugee settlements where access to food, education, healthcare and sustainable livelihoods remains an ongoing challenge.

Yet behind these statistics are real people with names, families and dreams. They are mothers struggling to feed their children, fathers longing to rebuild their lives, and children hoping for a future free from fear. They are people created in the image of God. The Lord therefore commands us, "Love the foreigner residing among you as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God." (Leviticus 19:34).

One such story is that of Okello Annuarite, a 29-year-old mother of six living in Kyaka II Refugee Settlement in Kyegegwa District. In 2015, war broke out in her homeland, the Democratic Republic of Congo. Violence swept through her community, claiming the lives of relatives, neighbours and friends. Like thousands of others, she fled with little more than the hope of keeping her children alive, leaving behind her home, possessions and cherished memories to seek refuge in Uganda.

Although she had escaped the conflict, life as a refugee presented a different battle.

*SEED FOR LIFE*
Let us not neglect meeting together, as some have made a habit, but let us encourage one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
• Hebrews 10:25

We sustain a loss when we neglect the privilege of associating together to strengthen and encourage one another in the service of God. The truths of His Word lose their vividness and importance in our minds. Our hearts cease to be enlightened and aroused by their sanctifying influence, and we decline in spirituality... In our association together, speaking to each other of the love of God, hearts would be refreshed, and we would refresh one another.
• Steps To Christ, p.102

🙏🏽 *• A Point To Ponder •*
When believers gather to exalt Christ, faith is strengthened, hearts are refreshed, and heaven feels a little nearer.✨

In John 17, Jesus prays for protection for His disciples from the evil one. He doesn't ask God to remove them from the world, where they would go on to do important mission work, but that He would protect them.
