Jesus took your sin and shame, and He paid your debt in full. "He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west" (Psalm 103:12). We don't have to walk in guilt and condemnation.

Depression is not merely an emotional or mental state; it is a spiritual position. In this position, there are oracles from God you may never hear. When the soul is downcast, it tends to magnify troubles, drowning out God’s voice. This is why, like David, you must learn to speak yourself out of this state when you feel down.
Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God. ( Psalm 42:5 NIV )
