Did you know that schools in Kampala the heart of Uganda, contribute 65% towards empowering young people into being change makers?

Well YES!

From time immemorial, they have been custodians of wisdom and have equipped young people with skills, knowledge and principles which all has greatly propelled them into better and responsible persons as well as to greater heights in their careers and lives.
For this very reason, we yarn to be part of this great story and journey of impacting the upcoming generation.

With access to various resources and tools that can enable engage these young people in a much educative and fun way inorder to pass on life changing lessons, we are delighted to announce that we shall be launching and sharing space through within different schools in Kampala on various activities and programs which include Sports & Games, CareerAdvice, Mental Health Awareness, Debates Competitions, Music & Dance as well as Drama Performances, all aimed for the wellbeing of the youth.

Are you a lover of Children, does their education, health, wellbeing and joy matter to you, then this campaign/ initiative is for you, allow me to introduce to and invite you to be part of the I Love Children Initiative.

What is it about?

Impacting the lives of these young people below the age of 18 years in order to contribute to them having a free and a better future where they are not deprived of the most important needs in their lives.
These young people have a right to have a balanced diet, education materials such as pens/ pencils, books, bags, school shoes, medical assistance and examination to assist the disabled and unprivileged ones, companion and joy in order to enable them to live a fulfilled life in this world of the living.

How do we do it?

We identify single mothers, widows who have children but without support or with limited resources in Uganda specifically in Kampala.

Therefore allow me to invite you to be part of the I Love Children Initiative, let us support these young people the future of tomorrow.

Share Joy Internationalโ€™s Executive Director, Brian Muhumuza, held a strategic meeting today at our office with key youth leaders from Kawempe 1, Kakungulu Parish: Mr. Imran Bunkedeko (Chairman for the Youth) and Mr. Chris Kobusheshe (Secretary for the Youth).

This productive session focused on advancing our โ€˜Bulungi Bwansi Campaign,โ€™ a community-led clean-up initiative. The youth leaders shared critical insights on local waste management challenges, highlighting:
1. Severe rubbish congestion.
2. Poor drainage systems.
3. Lack of public sensitization.
4. High and unaffordable KCCA waste collection fees, coupled with infrequent truck visits.
5. Absence of designated rubbish collection points.

Crucially, they also put forward community-driven solutions, including increased public enlightenment, timely waste clearing in designated areas, and improved drainage.

This campaign is a testament to empowering local leadership and transforming community challenges into action.

Weโ€™re grateful for a positive response from our Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) our esteemed partners.

Such an inspiration by the dedication of these youth leaders in driving a healthier, cleaner Kampala more so Kawempe where they come from.
