Have you been invited for a dinner by someone special to you before? How did you feel while preparing to honour the invitation? What were your expectations? Did you find them met eventually? The disciples must have been wondering what the supper with Jesus would look like, particularly when Jesus revealed it would be His last supper with them.

The Last Supper was a milestone moment in Jesus’ mission to defeat sin and death, showcasing God’s great love. In Luke 22:19, Jesus broke bread with His followers and said, "This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me." His words pointed to the Crucifixion He was about to endure for humanity's sins. The Last Supper symbolizes the saving grace we receive through Christ’s death, which provides our salvation, and we celebrate it to remember.

Jesus voluntarily gave His life to save us. Have you received the life He freely gives? Will you honour Christ’s sacrifice by living a life aligned with His teachings? Jesus' sacrifice was not in vain; it granted us the gift of eternal life. This sacrifice calls for reciprocity from us. Let us, therefore, live our lives in devotion to Him, embodying His love and spreading His message of hope to all.

Insight: Christ gave His life so that we could live. Are you living for Him?

Prayer: Lord, help me to live for You and make necessary sacrifice to show your love to others.
