THE SECRET OF HONORING GOD DEVOTIONAL
Recognize It. Honor It. Give Thanks.
Main Scripture: Judges 6–7
Gideon was hiding when God called him a “mighty man of valor” (Judges 6:12). God saw what Gideon had not yet recognized in himself.
Sometimes God’s work in our lives may look small, incomplete, or different from what we expected. But when you recognize His hand, do not despise it—honor it.
A word can change you.
A testimony can strengthen you.
A small breakthrough can be the beginning of multiplication.
An opportunity can become a divine assignment.
What God has placed in your hands may be small, but it is not insignificant.
The widow in 2 Kings 4 had only a little oil, but what she had became the beginning of multiplication. Likewise, what you appreciate and surrender to God can become the starting point of something greater.
HONOR IS SEEN IN OUR RESPONSE
You may hear a good word or a powerful sermon, but how you respond to it matters.
The disciples on the road to Emmaus said:
“Abide with us.” — Luke 24:29
They recognized something about Jesus' presence that they did not want to lose.
Do not merely hear the Word. Receive it. Value it. Obey it.
When God gives instruction, obey.
When God gives an opportunity, recognize it.
When God gives His presence, honor it.
When God uses someone to bless you, appreciate it.
Honor is faith expressed through our response to God.
HONOR REQUIRES CONSECRATION
For every believer, leader, and minister, honor must become a lifestyle.
2 Corinthians 8:5 reminds us that they first gave themselves to the Lord.
Before God wants our gifts, our service, or our ministry, He wants our hearts.
A consecrated life says:
“Lord, You are worthy of my obedience, my time, my gifts, my character, and my whole life.”
Our public ministry can never replace our private devotion.
DON'T TAKE GOD'S GOODNESS FOR GRANTED
Psalm 116:12 asks:
“What shall I render to the LORD for all His benefits toward me?”
Our salvation is a miracle.
His grace is a gift.
His Word is a treasure.
His presence is a privilege.
Therefore, do not wait for a bigger miracle before you give thanks.
Hebrews 13:15 reminds us to continually offer the sacrifice of praise.
Thank Him for what He has done.
Thank Him for what He is doing.
Thank Him for what you are trusting Him to do.
THE SECRET
What you recognize, you can appreciate.
What you appreciate, you will honor.
What you honor, you will respond to.
And what you respond to in faith, God can multiply.
May we never become so familiar with God's goodness that we stop giving Him glory.
Recognize it.
Honor it.
Give thanks.
GOLD NUGGET
“What you recognize, you can appreciate. What you appreciate, you will honor. What you honor, you will respond to—and what you respond to in faith, God can multiply.”
Don't despise the little.
The little oil became multiplication.
The hidden Gideon became a mighty man.
The small beginning became a divine assignment.
Recognize what God is doing. Honor His presence. Give thanks for His goodness.

PRAYER
Father, open our eyes to recognize what You are doing in our lives.
Deliver us from familiarity that makes us despise Your blessings, Your Word, Your presence, and the people You use.
Teach us to appreciate Your grace, obey Your instruction, honor Your presence, and faithfully steward what You have placed in our hands.
Give us a heart of thanksgiving and a life of consecration.
May our response to You always be faith, honor, obedience, and praise.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
