God Will Save Your Family

ACTS 16:31 NKJ 31 So they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household."

We have a right to believe for the salvation of all our family members. God's desire is for everyone to know Him and enjoy life with Him.

2 PETER 3:9 NKJ 9 The Lord is . . . not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

God never forces anyone to accept Him and love Him. But when we pray for people, God releases His forces and strongly influences them with His truth. When people are confronted with the reality of God, they will accept Him. Spiritual blindness is the only reason anyone rejects Jesus Christ.

Praying for those we love gives God a valid invitation to work in their lives, so they can know the truth.

We should also use the authority of Jesus' Name to break the devil's blindness over our loved ones.

2 CORINTHIANS 4:3-4 NKJ 3 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

There is a spiritual reason why people have not accepted the Lord Jesus Christ. We must deal with the root of the problem, not just the outward circumstances. We can command the devil to release them and stop blinding them to the truth.

When we pray for others it may not seem like anything is happening outwardly, but behind the scenes we can be certain that God is working. We should continue in faith and resist any thoughts of doubt.

LUKE 12:4 NKJ 4 "And I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.

Since Jesus defeated death and removed its sting, believers should no longer be motivated by fear of death.

1 CORINTHIANS 15:55,57 NLT 55 O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting? " 57 But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Death has been defeated by Jesus. Now the death of a Christian believer is just a transition from this lower reality to a higher, more perfect, and lasting reality. For anyone trusting in Jesus, there is no reason to be afraid.

I believe that death is now like birth: just an entry into an unknown but better place, a place of more freedom and consciousness, where we will continue to learn and grow, as we enjoy the goodness of God.

LUKE 20:38 NLT 38 So he is the God of the living, not the dead, for they are all alive to him."

Death is not the end. And death is only sleep for your body, not sleep for the real you which lives inside your body. After you die your body will sleep in death till the great Resurrection, but you will be alive with God all the time.

2 CORINTHIANS 5:8 NLT 8 Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord.

PHILIPPIANS 1:21,23 NLT 21 For to me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better. 23 I'm torn between two desires: I long to go and be with Christ, which would be far better for me.

Believers need to realize that passing through death means we will be far better off. Why be afraid of that?

JOHN 14:1-3 NKJ 1 "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 "In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to

Christian Unity
1 CORINTHIANS 12:27 NLT 27 All of you together are Christ's body, and each of you is a part of it.

EPHESIANS 4:3 NLT 3 Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace.

God hates discord and quarreling among brethren (see Proverbs 6:16-19).

Does this mean we should "compromise" to have Christian unity? No!

But nowhere does the New Testament teach that having perfect doctrine will save us, or give us favor with God. Instead, right standing and favor with God is a gift we receive by God's grace.

It is never compromise to show love. We can walk in love without compromising what we believe.

In John 17:11 and 22 Jesus prayed for our unity, so we know it is God's will. However, that does not mean every Christian group must join together into one group.

We are to be united in our love for the Lord and for one another. But that does not mean we should all be doing the same thing in the same way. God is a God of diversity!

1 CORINTHIANS 12:4,6 NLT 4 There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. 6 God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us.

It is fine, even advantageous for us to have different groups with different flavors. Even the children of Israel had twelve tribes, not just one. But we should all walk in love toward each other, being careful to not criticize or condemn others.

What we believe (our doctrine) can separate us, but Who we believe in (Jesus) is what should bring us together.

In this life, we will never agree on every single thing that we believe. We are all growing and learning, and we will never all be at the same level of understanding. So our unity can only be through Christ.

All who believe in Jesus Christ are members of His Body. So all those who recognize Jesus as Lord are on our same team. We should do nothing and say nothing that would harm any of them.

How should we treat other Christian

Healing Is Part Of The Gospel
ACTS 14:7-10 KJV 7 And there they preached the gospel. 8 And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked: 9 The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, 10 Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.

Whatever message Paul preached at Lystra, it produced enough faith in a man who was born a cripple, and had never walked his whole life, to receive instant healing.

Notice that it was the crippled man who Scripture says had faith to be healed. Surely it was not because he was born with faith, or else he would have received his healing sooner. No, faith only came into him when he heard what Paul preached. Think of that! The Gospel preached by Paul caused this hearer to believe he could be healed right then, and he was!

Scripture does not say the man was healed because of Paul, or Paul's faith. It clearly says this crippled man heard what Paul spoke. After he heard Paul preach the Gospel, not before, he had faith to be healed, and he was!

It does not say Paul healed the man. Paul did only three things: he preached the Gospel, perceived the man had faith to be healed, and then told the man to act on his faith and stand up.

The Gospel Paul preached in Lystra caused this man who was crippled since birth to have faith to be healed.

The question we must ask ourselves is if crippled people are not getting faith to be healed when they hear the "Gospel" today, why not? Is it because we are not preaching the same Gospel Paul preached, but only part of it?

Yes!

We have been misled by centuries of unbelief in the church, resulting in weak translations of the Bible and weak preaching.

For example, when we read Romans 1:16 in our English translations, we immediately think of forgiveness of sins -- what we consider salvation. But when Paul wrote this in Greek, the readers understood i

Be Heaven's Ambassador

2 CORINTHIANS 5:20 LB 20 We are Christ's ambassadors. God is using us to speak to you: we beg you, as though Christ himself were here pleading with you, receive the love he offers you--be reconciled to God.

An ambassador is a resident representative for the head of state of their own country.

As citizens of Heaven, we are authorized to represent our King, the Lord Jesus Christ, here on Earth.

An ambassador is a very important person. Unless they do their job correctly, misunderstanding can easily develop -- and possibly even war.

This is Heaven's problem. Its ambassadors have not always clearly communicated the correct message to Earth's inhabitants. That is why so many people are "at war with God" instead of enjoying the blessings of peace with God.

The problem comes from people misunderstanding God, and not realizing the sin problem has already been dealt with in Christ.

2 CORINTHIANS 5:21 NLT 21 For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

The logic supporting the plea in verse 20, to be reconciled to God, is found in verse 21: the sin separating us from God has been dealt with through Christ. So we no longer need to hide from God, or fear His judgment. Instead, we can enjoy His gift of being made right with Him.

A good ambassador for Heaven must know the message of God, and speak His message -- accurately.

One way of determining the accurate message of Jesus Christ is found in John 8:31-32. Jesus said His message would make people free -- not beat them down or put them in bo***ge.

God has a message that He desires for every person to hear: He loves them, and will help them, if they will only turn to Him.

We must communicate that message clearly.

This message of God's love for mankind was displayed in and through a person: Jesus of Nazareth. We learn of Him, and His message, through a book -- the Holy Bible.

Actually, Jesus Himself was, and is, G

JOSHUA 1:9 NKJ 9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

Over and over the Bible tells us to not be afraid.

When you stop and think about it -- it's ridiculous to be afraid when God is with you -- and for you.

As humans, we tend to forget. Maybe that's why God said so many times to "Fear not!"

Here are just a couple examples.

LUKE 12:7 NIV 7 Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

ISAIAH 41:13 NIV 13 For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.

SAY THIS: I will not be afraid because I trust in God, who is with me.

Keep Your Body Under Control

1 CORINTHIANS 9:27 ESV 27 But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.

Our body is our earth vehicle. Without it, we can't operate on earth. If our body is not kept under control, and kept in good shape, it can become unfit for use, rendering us disqualified from continuing on in the race set before us (Hebrews 12:1).

The Williams translation of the above verse says "may not myself become unfit to run."

What could disqualify you from finishing your race here on earth in complete victory? Your body becoming unfit to function fully could certainly keep you from finishing your course.

We have a responsibility to take care of what God has given us -- including our body. So there is no reason to mistreat our body, or treat it as evil. We just need to make sure that we control our body, instead of allowing our body to control us.

We cannot expect God to keep our body under control; that is our job. We can ask the Lord to help us, but we must do it (Romans 12:1).

It is important to notice in the Scripture above that "I" is not the same as "my body." These bodies are what we live in on earth. You could call them earth-suits. You need to understand that you are not the same as your body. Your body will die, but you will continue to live after leaving your body.

The verse above also makes it clear that if we fail to control our bodies we will experience undesirable consequences. So if we desire to walk in victory, we must control our bodies.

Fasting (going without food) is one way we can keep our bodies trained to realize they are not our master.

Forcing yourself to exercise is another way of maintaining control over your body, so that it will be in shape to continue to serve you for a long life.

1 CORINTHIANS 6:12 GWN 12 Someone may say, "I'm allowed to do anything," but not everything is helpful. I'm allowed to do anything, but I won't allow anything to gain contro
