THE CORNET DAILY DEVOTIONAL

YOU LIVE ABOVE

Friday 1st May, 2026
Pastor David Omongole

“For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.” (Ezekiel 36:24 KJV)

This is a prophecy that God gave concerning Israel but since the Word of God is a double edged sword, the prophecy also applies to the church of Jesus Christ. God has gathered us from all countries and brought us into our own land; that is Zion, the heavenly Jerusalem (Hebrews 12:22). If you are born again, Zion is your current address. Praise the Lord!

Galatians 4:26 says, “But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.” (KJV) The Jerusalem which is above is where we dwell now as God’s children. God raised us up together with Christ and made us sit together with Him in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6). These heavenly places are in the heavenly Jerusalem. Hallelujah!

Live with the consciousness that you actually live above. The things of this world have nothing on you because you live above. The systems of this world have nothing on you because you live above. The things that affect people on the earth have nothing on you because you live above. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION
I am seated together with Christ in heavenly places far above all evil principalities, powers, dominion and might. I am a citizen of Zion, the heavenly Jerusalem. I live above fear, sickness, death and the systems of this world. I am triumphant and victorious in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Hallelujah!

FURTHER STUDY
Hebrews 12:22-23 KJV
But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, (23) To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

Ephesians 2:6 AMP
And He raised us up together with Him and made us sit down together [giving us joint seating with Him] in the heavenly sphere [by virtue of our being] in Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed One).

THE CORNET DAILY DEVOTIONAL

A LIFE OF WORSHIP

Thursday 30th April, 2026
Pastor David Omongole

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship.” (Romans 12:1 NIV)

Worshipping God is not something you should only do on Sunday when you are in church. When we come together to fellowship in a church service; that is worship because there is an altar there. But you should also worship God daily with your whole life.

1 Corinthians 10:31 shows us that your eating can be an act of worship to the Lord. When you pray and thank God for the food, it is sanctified and dedicated to God. Your work can also be an act of worship. Make it your practice to pray before you start working, commit your work to the Lord and then work diligently. “Whatever may be your task, work at it heartily (from the soul), as [something done] for the Lord and not for men,” (Colossians 3:23 AMP)

You can also worship God by praising Him, studying His Word and praying. If you have a child, train them to start their day by dedicating it to the Lord in prayer. It doesn’t have to be a long prayer when they are still young, but train them to do it. You can take off 10 minutes to pray with them every morning. When they grow, they will not depart from worshipping God. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION
I worship God with my life. I praise the Lord with spiritual songs and words of adoration. I give myself wholly to the Word of God and prayer. I eat and drink to the glory of God. I do all things to the glory of God. My work is well pleasing to the Lord. I work heartily, knowing that I serve the Lord Christ.

FURTHER STUDY
1 Corinthians 10:31 KJV
Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

Psalms 119:147-148 ERV
I get up early in the morning to pray to you. I trust what you say. (148) Late into the night I stay awake to think about your word.

THE CORNET DAILY DEVOTIONAL

WORSHIP

Wednesday 29th April, 2026
Pastor David Omongole

“They made a calf in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image. Thus they changed their glory into the similitude of an ox that eateth grass.” (Psalms 106:19-20 KJV)

Every time you read a Scripture like this which refers to something that happened elsewhere, endeavor to search out and study the place where it happened so that you can fully understand what is being said. Exodus 32 gives the full account of how the Israelites made a calf and worshipped the molten image. When Moses delayed to come down the mountain where he had gone to speak with the Lord, the people convinced Aaron to make for them gods.

Aaron used their golden earrings and “…fashioned them into a molten calf. The people said, "This, Israel, is your god who brought you out of the land of Egypt." When Aaron saw this, he built an altar in front of it, and then he proclaimed, "Tomorrow is to be a festival to the LORD." They got up early the next day and offered burnt offerings and brought peace offerings. Then the people sat down to eat and drink, and then they got up to play.” (Exodus 32:4-6 ISV)

This portion of Scripture shows us how the Israelites worshipped the molten image. First, they praised it by saying it brought them out of Egypt. Secondly, Aaron instituted an altar there. Thirdly, they offered sacrifices to it. They also held a festival where they ate, drunk and played. “And the LORD said unto Moses, Go, get you down; for your people …have corrupted themselves:” (Exodus 32:7 KJ2000) They corrupted themselves by worshipping the molten calf. “Thus they changed their glory into the similitude of an ox that eateth grass.” (Psalms 106:20 KJV)

This signifies that you become what you worship. When you worship God with your life, you will be transformed from glory to glory. You will show forth the virtues and perfections of God to the world. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION
I worship the Lord continually. I offer my body as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to the Lord. I thankfully acknowledge and glorify the name of the Lord. I declare His wonderful works to all men. I praise God in the festal gatherings of the saints. I honour the Lord with my substance. I favour God’s righteous cause in all I do. I am continually transfigured from glory to glory by the Spirit of the Lord. Hallelujah!

FURTHER STUDY
2 Corinthians 3:18 AMP
And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.

Romans 12:1 NIV
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship.

THE CORNET DAILY DEVOTIONAL

PRAISE AND WORSHIP
Tuesday 28th April, 2026

Pastor David Omongole
“Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.” (Psalms 106:1 KJV)

Praise the Lord always, give Him thanks for He is good, His mercy endures forever! To praise God means to acknowledge Him for who He is and for what He has done. You do not have to wait for something good to happen around you before you begin praising God, you can simply praise Him for who He is.

Some people think praise is singing fast songs while jumping and then worship is singing slow songs which can move them to cry or kneel down. That is not true! Praise is actually worship, it is a sacrifice. “Through Him, therefore, let us constantly and at all times offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, which is the fruit of lips that thankfully acknowledge and confess and glorify His name.” (Hebrews 13:15 AMP) You can praise God by singing or speaking words of praise to Him. You can also praise God by playing musical instruments.

Worship on the other hand includes so many other things. For example, you can worship God when you are eating. 1 Corinthians 10:31 says, “…whether you eat or drink, or whatever you may do, do all for the honor and glory of God.” (AMP) You can live your whole life in a way that worships the Lord. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION
I bless the Lord God for He is a good Father. The Lord is loving and kind. The Lord is merciful and gracious. The Lord is great in power. The works of the Lord are marvelous. I offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually for this is well pleasing to Him. I worship God with my whole life. I do only things which honour and glorify the Lord. Hallelujah!

FURTHER STUDY
Psalms 150:1-6 AMP
PRAISE THE Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in the heavens of His power! (2) Praise Him for His mighty acts; praise Him according to the abundance of His greatness! (3) Praise Him with trumpet sound; praise Him with lute and harp! (4) Praise Him with tambourine and [single or group] dance; praise Him with stringed and wind instruments or flutes! (5) Praise Him with resounding cymbals; praise Him with loud clashing cymbals! (6) Let everything that has breath and every breath of life praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)

Hosea 14:2 AMP
Take with you words and return to the Lord. Say to Him, Take away all our iniquity; accept what is good and receive us graciously; so will we render [our thanks] as bullocks [to be sacrificed] and pay the confession of our lips.

THE CORNET DAILY DEVOTIONAL

PRAISE THE LORD CONTINUALLY

Monday 27th April, 2026
Pastor David Omongole

“And your gates shall be open continually, they shall not be shut day or night, that men may bring to you the wealth of the nations--and their kings led in procession…” (Isaiah 60:11 AMP)

You can attract wealth by keeping your gates open continually. The gates He is talking about here are spiritual gates. Isaiah 60:18 says, “…you shall call your walls Salvation and your gates Praise.” (AMP). Your gates are praise! You keep your gates open continually by praising God always.

Your gates shall not be shut day or night, this is not just about light and darkness. It means your gates of praise should not be shut in good times or tough times. When things are flowing smoothly, praise the Lord! When you are faced with trouble, praise the Lord still! Do not only praise God when good things are happening around you, praise God all the time, no matter the circumstances.

When money has come to your account, praise God! When money has not yet come to your account, praise God still! Whether you are having a wonderful job or not, praise God. Whether you are married or not, praise God. Whether you have children or not, praise God! No matter what happens, keep praising the Lord! Men will bring to you wealth of the nations with their kings led in procession.

CONFESSION
I keep my gates of praise open continually. I praise God in the good times and bad times. I declare the praises of the Lord in every circumstance. God is good and greatly to be praised. His mercy endures forever. His faithfulness is sure. Hallelujah! Men bring to me the wealth of the nations, with their kings led in procession. Glory to God forever more!

FURTHER STUDY
Psalms 146:1-2 KJV
Praise ye the LORD. Praise the LORD, O my soul. (2) While I live will I praise the LORD: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.

Psalms 34:1 KJV
I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

THE CORNET DAILY DEVOTIONAL

TRUE WEALTH

Sunday 26th April, 2026
Pastor David Omongole

“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot: I would that you were cold or hot. So then because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of my mouth. Because you say, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and know not that you are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:” (Revelation 3:15-17 KJ2000)

In the Scripture above, we see the Lord’s message to the church of the Laodecians. They had become lukewarm because of what looked like wealth and yet in the eyes of God it was sheer poverty.

At times children of God admire the wealth of the people of the world yet God calls it poverty. One may desire to drive the cars they drive, live in the places they live and wear the clothes they are wearing, yet God says they are wretched, miserable, poor, blind and naked.

Does God want you to be poor? No! True wealth is with God. He says, “I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.” (Revelation 3:18 KJV)

Buy of Him gold tried in the fire, that you may be truly rich. Be clothed with white raiment, that means righteousness. Put on the gift of righteousness, so that you will not be naked. Anoint your eyes with eyesalve, that you may see the things God has prepared for those who love Him. When you behold what God has in stock for you, you will not admire poverty. You will take hold of true wealth which is found in Christ.

CONFESSION
I recognize that true wealth is found in God. Christ became poor at the cross for my sake, that I might be rich. I have abundance of possessions. Whatsoever I touch prospers. I do not chase after material things because I am content with God. I am clothed in righteousness. The Spirit of God reveals to me the things God has freely given to me. Hallelujah!

FURTHER STUDY
1 Corinthians 2:9-10 KJV
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. (10) But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

Revelation 5:12 KJV
Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
