Pentecost Sunday Year A

Homily by Fr. Ben Chola Mccj

Friends, today is Pentecost Sunday. Pentecost is a feast that occupies a very important and prominent position in the Church’s history and liturgical calendar. This is because it serves as the bridge between the Easter Season and Ordinary Time of the year. The readings of today show how the Spirit gives courage, guidance, and unity to those who follow Jesus. The disciples, once fearful, became bold witnesses after receiving the Spirit. The Spirit also helps believers use their gifts to serve others and share the message of Jesus. These reflections explore the power of the Spirit, the gift of communication, and the constant presence of the Spirit in our lives. Holy Spirit, fill our hearts with your wisdom and strength. Help us to listen to your guidance and follow the path of Jesus. Give us the courage to share your love with others. Bring peace and unity to your Church.

Sixth Sunday of Easter Season Year A

Homily by Fr. Ben Chola

Friends, today is the sixth Sunday of Easter Year A. As we approach the feast of Pentecost, our Mother Church invites us to celebrate the coming of the Advocate. She calls us to celebrate the Spirit of truth, which strengthens us in the proclamation of the good news. Jesus promises that He will not leave His followers alone. The Holy Spirit is our guide, our strength, and our helper. The readings of today also encourage us to trust in God, share our faith, and live in obedience to His teachings. Lord, thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Help me to trust in Your presence and follow Your ways. Give me the courage to share my faith with others and the wisdom to live in obedience to You. Strengthen my love for You each day.

Dear Parishioners and Friends,

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Julian Nerima, affectionately known as MAMA in our choir and parish family. Julie Passed on Yesterday evening (28th April, 2026) in Mulago hospital.

Third Sunday of Easter Season Year A

Homily by Fr. Ben Chola Mccj

Friends, on this third Sunday of Easter season, we continue to appreciate God’s love for us by allowing his only son, Jesus Christ, to die for us and triumph over death through his resurrection in order that we ourselves might have life anew. Today, we are invited to reflect on encounters with the risen Jesus. The readings of this Sunday highlight how Peter and the disciples on the road to Emmaus experienced Jesus’ presence in unexpected ways. These encounters strengthened their faith and filled them with new courage to share the Good News. We are called to open our hearts and recognize Jesus’ presence in our own lives. Lord Jesus, help us to recognize You in our daily lives. Open our hearts to Your presence and teach us to share Your Good News with others. Fill us with the courage and joy that come from knowing You are with us always.

Easter Vigil – Service of Light (Part One)

From darkness into light, we began the most sacred night of our faith. As the new fire was blessed and the Paschal Candle lit, we were reminded that Christ is our Light—shining in the darkness, bringing hope, renewal, and life to all.

“The Light of Christ” — Thanks be to God!

May this light continue to guide our hearts and homes as we journey through the joy of the Resurrection.
