CONTINUE STEADFASTLY

“And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers…. And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,” (Acts 2:42,46 KJV)

Continue steadfastly in fellowship. Fellowship (Greek “koinonia”) means being together. When you come together with fellow brethren in church to praise God and share in the Word of God, you are having fellowship. Beyond assembling together, we can come to a place of fellowship where we understand the brethren at an individual level.

Love the brethren and be genuinely concerned about them. Celebrate with those who are celebrating and mourn with those who are mourning. If one has a need, support them. It is easy to have this kind of fellowship in a cell or ministry team. Join a church cell and be a consistent member. Join a ministry team and participate actively in it. You will know the brethren personally and you will have many opportunities to be a blessing to them.

Continue steadfastly in breaking of bread. This involves eating together and having Holy Communion together. Sharing food helps to keep people together. You can invite brethren to your house for the sake of eating food with gladness and simplicity.

Continue steadfastly in prayers. Speak in tongues often. Attend the prayer meetings. Agree with the brethren over matters and align them to God’s will. When we continue steadfastly in these things, the church will grow, spread and increase.

CONFESSION
I continue steadfastly in the right doctrine, fellowship, breaking of bread and prayers. I attend church services diligently and walk in love towards the brethren. I participate in Holy Communion and enjoy the unity that comes with it. I strive together with the saints in prayer and our prayers yield supernatural changes. Glory to God forever!

REVERENTIAL FEAR

“And they steadfastly persevered, devoting themselves constantly to the instruction and fellowship of the apostles, to the breaking of bread [including the Lord's Supper] and prayers. And a sense of awe (reverential fear) came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were performed through the apostles (the special messengers).” (Acts 2:42-43 AMP)

There was reverential fear among the people and miraculous signs and wonders were performed by the apostles. Miracles do not happen in a place where there is no reverence.

1 Corinthians 12:28 says, “…God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings…” (KJV) This is the divine order.

There is a pastor that God has set in your midst, have reverence for him. He may even be your friend or your spouse, do not esteem him lightly because of what you know about him. When a congregation doesn’t honour their pastor, more miracles happen when he is ministering elsewhere.

Have reverence for God. Have reverence for ministers of God. Have reverence for the things of God. You will witness many miracles, signs and wonders in your life, family, church and all around you.

CONFESSION
The Spirit of reverence works mightily in me. I have reverence for God. I have reverence for God’s Word. I have reverence for the ministers of God. I double honour my pastor for he is God’s gift to me. My life is full of the supernatural. I witness glorious signs, miracles and wonders. Hallelujah!

APOSTLES’ DOCTRINE

“And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. And all that believed were together, and had all things common; And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.” (Acts 2:42-47 KJV)

This portion of Scripture reveals to us keys that promote the increase of God’s Word. One of them is continuing steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine. Doctrine is the understanding that you have about something. If you are talking about salvation for example, the precepts put together to help you understand salvation are doctrine. The ideas that guide your understanding of health or finances are doctrine.

What do you believe about baptism with water? What do you believe about heaven and hell? What do you believe about the rapture? What do you believe about speaking in tongues? What do you believe about the grace of God? What do you believe about laying on of hands?

Pay attention to the Word of God preached in your church. Listen to the sermons of your pastor again and again. Continue steadfastly in the right doctrine. You will grow and advance to maturity.

CONFESSION
I commit myself to studying and listening to the Word of God diligently. As I meditate on the Word, I am enlightened by the Spirit of God. He guides me into all truth. Hallelujah! I have a proper understanding of the Word of God and I am fully persuaded of divine realities. As I pay attention to sound doctrine, my profiting appears to all. Glory to God!

THE INCREASE OF GOD’S WORD

“And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.” (Acts 6:7 KJV)

The word of God increased. How? He expounds on this in the same verse. The number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith. The church of Jesus Christ is one of the dimensions of God's word. As the disciples multiplied, the Word of God was increasing and spreading.

Every child of God is a seed of the word of God sent into his environment to multiply and reveal God's glory. 1 Peter 1:1 says, “Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,” (KJV) The phrase “scattered throughout” doesn’t mean disorganized, it means dispersed. It is similar to broadcasting in agriculture where seeds are scattered across a broad land surface during sowing.

God has sown you into the world. As you preach the Word of God boldly where you are, many will believe and be saved. They will also be born of the Word of God. Thus, the Word of God will be growing, spreading and increasing mightily. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION
I am a seed of God’s Word sown into my environment. I preach the Word of God boldly and win many to Christ. I make disciples of men everywhere I go. The Word of God is growing, spreading and increasing mightily. Hallelujah!

ATTEND TO THE SCRIPTURES

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17 KJV)

Since the Scriptures are inspired by God, they are the Word of God. When you study the Scriptures, you are not studying the words of men but the Word of God. Some people say, “God has never talked to me.” What they don’t realize is that when they open the Bible and study the Scriptures, God is actually talking to them. If you want to hear what God is saying, do not wait for an audible voice, turn to the Scriptures and see what God is saying to you.

The Scriptures are able to make you wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus (2 Timothy 3:15). When you believed the Word of God and received the Lord Jesus Christ, you were saved. To enjoy the benefits of salvation, you must continue to give yourself wholly to the Word of God. The Scriptures will help you learn how to walk in power, riches, wisdom, strength, honour, glory and the blessing of the Lord.

In the Scriptures, we see the truth. Jesus said, “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” (John 17:17 KJV) To increase in the knowledge of truth, get to the Word. The Scriptures bring light into your life. Psalms 119:130 says, “The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.” (KJV) As you attend to the Scriptures, you will be built up. You will be thoroughly equipped for every good work. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION
I recognize that the Scriptures are the words of God, not the words of men. God talks to me in His Word. The Word of God is a lamp to my feet and a light upon my path. I pay attention to the Word of God and act on it promptly. Therefore I enjoy the benefits of salvation. I am walking in power, riches, wisdom, strength, honour, glory and the blessing of the Lord. Hallelujah!

DIMENSIONS OF GOD’S WORD

“So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.” (Acts 19:20 KJV)

There are different dimensions of the “Word of God” shown to us in the Bible. The Word of God is the person of Jesus. The Bible says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…. And the Word became flesh, and tabernacled among us. And we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and of truth.” (John 1:1,14 MKJV) Hallelujah!

The Scriptures are also the Word of God. 1 Timothy 3:16 says “God [inspired/put into men's minds] everything that is written in the Scriptures…” (T4T) The CEV says, “Everything in the Scriptures is God's Word…” We have great reverence for the Scriptures because they are the Word of God, not the words of mere men.

The Word of God is also a description of the church of Jesus Christ. Our theme verse says “So mightily grew the Word of God and prevailed.” Was Jesus growing at that time? No, He had ascended into heaven. How about the Scriptures? They do not grow either. When you study the context of this verse, you will discover that he was talking about the church in Ephesus.

The church of Jesus Christ is the dimension of God’s Word which grows. We are “…born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” (1 Peter 1:23 KJV) Since the church is born of the Word, it is the Word of God. When the church increases and spreads, the Word of God is growing. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION
I recognize that the Word of God is the person of Jesus Christ and He dwells in me. Hallelujah! I hearken to the Scriptures for they are truth. I am born of the incorruptible seed of God’s Word. As I put the Word to work, I manifest the glory of God in every area of my life. Hallelujah!
