Today, Wednesday October 4th, the church remembers St Francis of Assisi. ''O God, by whose gift St Francis was conformed to Christ in poverty and humility, grant that, by walking in Francis's footsteps, we may follow your son through joyful charity and come to be united with you. Through our Lord Jesus Christ your son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit one God forever and ever. Amen.''

"There is no love without the Holy Spirit", by Augustine of Hippo, 354-430 A.D.

"How, then, did the apostles love, but in the Holy Spirit? And yet they are commanded to love him and keep his commandments before they have received him and, in fact, in order to receive him. And yet, without having that Spirit, they certainly could not love him and keep his commandments. We are therefore to understand that he who loves already has the Holy Spirit, and by what he has he becomes worthy of a fuller possession, that by having more he may love more. The disciples, therefore, already had that Holy Spirit whom the Lord promised, for without him they could not call him Lord. But they had him not as yet in the way promised by the Lord... As we look forward to the 3rd June Uganda Martyrs day celebration this year, we urge fellow christian families to join our beleoved brethren from Acholiland(Northern Uganda) in prayer,fast and perseverance.

Mark the feast day/celebration (20th October) for the two Acholi Catechist martyrs DAUDI OKELLO & JILDO IRWA who were killed for being servants of the Lord in Present day Agago and Pader districts in Northern Uganda.
