Happy World Teachers’ Day!

Today, we celebrate all who teach, guide and disciple others.

To our teachers in Watoto schools, thank you for helping raise Godly, transformational leaders that Uganda and Africa needs.

And to our pastors, discipleship facilitators and everyone who teaches and disciples us in the faith, thank you for helping us grow into the likeness of Christ and serve His Kingdom purpose.

Your investment in others matters. Thank you for teaching, shaping and building lives.

“...to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up...” Ephesians 4:12–13 NIV

Can you experience peace in every financial season?

Tomorrow, we begin Financial Shalom - exploring what it means to trust God as our source and flourish with what He has entrusted to us.

It’s also Holy Communion Sunday - a special time to pause, remember Jesus, and reflect on all He has done for us.

See you at church!

During the recent Watoto Sisterhood Overnight, Daisy Faith from Watoto Church in Nansana – Wakiso responded to an invitation for those experiencing pain to receive prayer. What happened next became a testimony she is grateful to share.

Here is Daisy’s testimony.

Praise God, Church.

My name is Daisy Faith, a member of Watoto Church Nansana. I am married and a mother of three.

I work online, mainly from home, which requires sitting for long periods. Over time, I developed persistent pain in my hip and leg. Although I tried using ergonomic equipment, changing chairs and taking occasional walks, the pain continued.

Last week, I underwent an X-ray and MRI. The results showed that one of the spinal discs was compressing a nerve and causing the pain. The doctors prescribed medication and scheduled me for ten physiotherapy sessions.

During the Sisterhood Overnight, someone invited those experiencing pain to raise their hands and receive prayer. I raised my hand, and some young ladies came and prayed for me.

Immediately after the prayer, I felt a remarkable difference. Before then, I had been unable to sit comfortably and kept moving around to manage the pain. However, after the prayer, something changed, and I believe God healed me.

Since then, I have not needed the prescribed pain medication. When I returned home, I told my husband, “I have received healing.” Although I attended my scheduled physiotherapy session today, I genuinely feel well.

I thank God for what He has done. My prayer is that the healing will be complete and permanent, and that I will continue testifying of His goodness.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

We thank God with Daisy for what she has experienced and for the hope and faith this testimony represents.

May we continue to seek God in prayer, trust Him in every circumstance and testify of His goodness.

“I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.” - Psalm 9:1

We don’t give to earn God’s blessing. We give in response to His blessing.

What does it look like when a life is rebuilt on God’s Word?

As we wrapped up our Empowered To Rebuild journey through the book of Nehemiah, people at Watoto Church in Entebbe reflected on what God has been teaching them:

For Philip and Phionah, the message on integrity stood out. "It reminded us of the responsibility leaders carry and the impact leadership can have on those they lead."

The final message, Rebuilt by the Word, brought another important reminder -“We need to dive deeper into God’s Word because when we know His Word, we are able to hear His voice, listen and obey Him.”

For Vanessa, the final message from Nehemiah 8 was a reminder that lasting change begins with us. "If we want to see change in our families and society, we must first allow God to work in our own hearts."

Aviela from Children’s Church shared, “I am going to pray to God whenever I have challenges.”

Simple lessons we can all carry with us.

What are you taking with you from the journey through Nehemiah?
