TESTIMONY OF THE KINAWATAKA CRUSADE (13/3/25, 19/3/25 & 20/3/25)
By Apostle Edward Ssewanyana

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ. I glorify God for the successful crusade that we held as Edifire Ministries in Kinawataka (Katoogo), Mbuya. We held the crusade over the course of three days: 13th, 19th & 20th March 2025. We had sessions of the open-air crusade and the evangelistic film show. The location where we held the crusade is at a major road junction and is an open ground surrounded by bars, open-air restaurants, and traders of all sorts. As we were having the crusade, the members of the adjacent bar were making all kinds of comments, but the good thing is that they were paying attention to the message of the gospel.

The Lord gave us a great harvest of converts who gave their lives to Jesus Christ throughout the 3 days of the crusade, including those who were patrons of the neighboring bar. Mighty healings and deliverances were also manifested as the gospel was confirmed with signs and wonders. I remember one teenage girl called Joan Namara of about 12 years who was delivered with a visible manifestation of demons that rolled her all over the place and when she finally rose up, she testified that she was totally healed of a stomach pain. One other lady who was a teacher gave her life to Jesus Christ on the first day of the crusade and she brought all the pupils of the local school where she is teaching to the crusade. God gave us great favor as the crusade progressed and this same teacher promised to bring all these pupils to the Sunday school of Worldwide Apostolic Church in Mbuya.

One other interesting thing about the crusade is that we held it just outside a native witch-doctor’s shrine. The signpost over the shrine read, “Uganda ne dagala lyayo. Jaja Salongo Muwanga okuva Ebukunja Kyaggwe. Omusawo.” (This loosely translates as Uganda and its medicine. Grandfather Salongo Muwanga from Bukunja, Kyaggwe. A doctor.) We were literally preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ at the doorstep of the chief devil’s agent in the area. We definitely took authority in the spiritual realm over all the powers of darkness in prayer in Jesus’ name. Indeed, the enemy could not stop the preaching of the gospel because of the greater one on the inside of us (1Jn 4:4).

“Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.” (Luke 10:2)
This scripture continued to run through my mind during the crusade since I saw that the harvest of souls is indeed so bountiful, but the labourers are few. The labourers include the preachers, intercessors, ushers, instrumentalists and singers. However, the other category of labourers that we need are those who will send out the preachers (Rom 10:15). I also realized that we need a lot more equipment to have bigger and better crusades, including a platform, vehicles and more powerful sound equipment. As a ministry, we plan to storm the harvest field of Kinawataka more often since we have seen the potential of the crusade location.

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15)
I appreciate all our partners who have stood with us through financial partnership and prayer to facilitate the great commission left to us by Jesus Christ. Indeed, we are preaching the gospel, advancing the kingdom of God and winning the lost to Christ in Kampala like never before. All glory and honor to God for the mighty harvest in Mbuya, Kinawataka.
