What is the โ€œNew Covenant?โ€
In short, God defines the โ€œNew Covenantโ€ at:
โžฅ Hebrews 8:
10 "For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel. After those days," says the Lord; "I will put my laws into their mind, I will also write them on their heart. I will be to them a God, And they will be to me a people.

God describes the โ€œNew Covenantโ€ at three places in the Scriptures at Hebrews 8(full chapter) which is quoting from Jeremiah 31:31-34 and Ezekiel 36:24-37.

11 They will not teach every man his fellow citizen, Every man his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' For all will know me, From the least of them to the greatest of them.
12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness. I will remember their sins and lawless deeds no more."

31 Behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
32 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they broke, although I was a husband to them, says Yahweh.
33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says Yahweh: I will put my law in their inward parts, and in their heart will I write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people:
34 and they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know Yahweh; for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says Yahweh: for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin will I remember no more.

24 For I will take you from among the nations, and gather you out of all the countries, and will bring you into your own land.
25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.
27 I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and you shall keep my ordinances, and do them.
28 You shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and you shall be my people, and I will be your God.
29 I will save you from all your uncleanness: and I will call for the grain, and will multiply it, and lay no famine on you.
30 I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that you may receive no more the reproach of famine among the nations.
31 Then shall you remember your evil ways, and your doings that were not good; and you shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.
32 Nor for your sake do I [this], says the Lord Yahweh, be it known to you: be ashamed and confounded for your ways, house of Israel.
33 Thus says the Lord Yahweh: In the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will cause the cities to be inhabited, and the waste places shall be built.
34 The land that was desolate shall be tilled, whereas it was a desolation in the sight of all who passed by.
35 They shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are fortified and inhabited.
36 Then the nations that are left round about you shall know that I, Yahweh, have built the ruined places, and planted that which was desolate: I, Yahweh, have spoken it, and I will do it.
37 Thus says the Lord Yahweh: For this, moreover, will I be inquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them: I will increase them with men like a flock.

Hebrews 8
1 Now in the things which we are saying, the main point is this. We have such a high priest, who sat down on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,
2 a minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tent, which the Lord pitched, not man.
3 For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices. Therefore it is necessary that this high priest also have something to offer.
4 For if he were on earth, he would not be a priest at all, seeing there are priests who offer the gifts according to the law;
5 who serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly things, even as Moses was warned by God when he was about to make the tent, for, "See," he said, "that you make all things according to the pattern that was shown you on the mountain."
6 But now he has obtained a more excellent ministry, by so much as he is also the mediator of a better covenant, which has been enacted on better promises.
7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second.
8 For finding fault with them, he said, "Behold, the days come," says the Lord, "That I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah;
9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers, In the day that I took them by the hand to lead them forth out of the land of Egypt; For they didn't continue in my covenant, And I disregarded them," says the Lord.
10 "For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel. After those days," says the Lord; "I will put my laws into their mind, I will also write them on their heart. I will be to them a God, And they will be to me a people.
11 They will not teach every man his fellow citizen, Every man his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' For all will know me, From the least of them to the greatest of them.

WERE GOD'S 10 COMMANDMENTS ABOLISHED IN THE NEW TESTAMENT? OR DOES THE NEW TESTAMENT CONTINUES TO TEACH AND UPHOLD THE 10 COMMANDMENTS?

Many scriptures in the New Testament show that Jesus and the apostles upheld the 10 Commandments, not as โ€œceremonial legalismโ€ or as a way to โ€œearnโ€ salvation, but as essential laws to govern a Christianโ€™s life.

Many scriptures show that every one of the 10 Commandments is reinforced in the New Testament. Most people acknowledge that Christians should obey most of the 10 Commandments, including those that prohibit worshipping other gods, murder, stealing, adultery and lyingโ€”just to name a few of the instructions spoken by God to the ancient Israelites from Mount Sinai.

It is only the Fourth Commandment to keep the seventh-day Sabbath (Exodus 20:8-11) that some claim is not repeated in the New Testament and therefore is no longer required of Christians.

Are all of the 10 Commandments upheld in the New Testament?
The answer is yes, most definitely. To prove this, consider what Jesus Christ taught concerning the commandments and see the following chart showing where each of the 10 Commandments is addressed in the New Testament.

WHAT JESUS CHRIST TAUGHT ABOUT THE 10 COMMANDMENTS IN THE NEW TESTAMENT.

Jesus Christ consistently upheld the 10 Commandments as given in the Old Testament. In His Sermon on the Mount, He very pointedly stated: โ€œDo not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfillโ€ _(Matthew 5:17). Although some mistakenly think that โ€œfulfillโ€ in this passage means to complete and therefore abolish, what Jesus said afterwards shows this could not be the case.

Continuing, Jesus said: โ€œFor assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. Whosoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whosoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heavenโ€ _( Matthew 5:18-19).

On another occasion, a man came to Jesus asking, โ€œGood Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?โ€ _(Mark 10:17).
In response, Jesus said, โ€œYou know the commandments: โ€˜Do not commit adultery,โ€™ โ€˜Do not murder,โ€™ โ€˜Do not steal,โ€™ โ€˜Do not bear false witness,โ€™ โ€˜Do not defraud,โ€™ โ€˜Honor your father and your motherโ€™โ€ _(Mark 10:19). The point Jesus was making was that, it should have been obvious to the man that he needed to keep the 10 Commandments. Jesus named enough of them to make it clear that this was the body of law this man needed to observe. At the same time Jesus was also making the point that this young man wasnโ€™t obeying the commandments as fully as he thought he was. He was guilty of covetousness (prohibited by the 10th Commandment), since he was unwilling to sell all that he had and commit himself to following Jesus Christ.

Jesusโ€™ instruction to obey the 10 Commandments continues to apply to us today. Jesus summarized the 10 Commandments into two great commandments. The first and great commandment is, โ€œYou shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mindโ€ (Matthew 22:37).
โ€œAnd,โ€ Jesus said, โ€œthe second is like it: โ€˜You shall love your neighbor as yourselfโ€™โ€ (verse 39).

Love of God is the underlying reason we are to keep the 10 Commandments. Jesus said, โ€œIf you love Me, keep My commandmentsโ€ _(John 14:15).
Noting the same concept, the apostle John later wrote: โ€œFor this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensomeโ€ _(1 John 5:3).

WHAT THE APOSTLE PAUL TAUGHT ABOUT THE 10 COMMANDMENTS IN THE NEW TESTAMENT.

Realizing that Jesus consistently upheld all of the commandments, including observing the seventh-day Sabbath (Matthew 19:17-19; Luke 4:16), some wrongly suggest that it was the apostle Paul, with Jesusโ€™ personal approval, who introduced grace and the abolishment of the law. This misguided idea that Paul taught against keeping the 10 Commandments is clearly refuted (proved to be wrong) by the apostle himself.

โ€œTherefore, the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good,โ€ said Paul _(Romans 7:12). And as for grace, he wrote: โ€œShall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?โ€ _(Romans 6:1-2).

The 10 Commandments given by God in the Old Testament continue to be Godโ€™s expectations of Christians today. The truth is that Jesus did not change His mind about the importance of keeping all of the 10 Commandments. As Hebrews 13:8 states: โ€œJesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.โ€

The 10 Commandments in the last book of the New Testament
Toward the end of the first centuryโ€”some 60 years after His death and resurrectionโ€”Jesus revealed end-time instructions through John in the book of Revelation. In this book He identifies faithful members of His Church as those โ€œWHO KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS OF GODโ€ and HAVE THE TESTIMONY OF JESUS CHRISTโ€ _(Revelation 12:17).
Some of the final words of the Bible and this revelation of Jesus Christ likewise state: โ€œBlessed are those who do HIS COMMANDMENTS, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may enter through the gates into the cityโ€ _(Revelation 22:14).

The 10 Commandments given by God in the Old Testament continue to be Godโ€™s expectations of Christians today.

The 10 Commandments in the New Testament
1. First COMMANDMENT: Jesus affirmed that we are to worship only God (Matthew 4:10; Luke 4:8).

2. Second COMMANDMENT: James and Paul confirmed that we are not to worship idols (Acts 15:20; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10).

3. Third COMMANDMENT: Jesus repeated that we should not use Godโ€™s name in a vain manner (Matthew 5:33-37).

4. Fourth COMMANDMENT: Jesus set the example for us of keeping the seventh-day Sabbath (Luke 4:16), as did the apostle Paul (Acts 17:2). After Jesusโ€™ death, the author of the book of Hebrews confirmed that worshipping on this day continues to be expected of Christians (Hebrews 4:9).

5. Fifth COMMANDMENT: Jesus taught that the commandment to honor our father and mother still applies (Matthew 15:4).

6. Sixth COMMANDMENT: Jesus confirmed that the command not to murder is still in force (Matthew 19:18).

7. Seventh COMMANDMENT: Jesus likewise taught that the command not to commit adultery still applies (Matthew 19:18).

8. Eighth COMMANDMENT: Jesus taught that the commandment not to steal continues to apply (Matthew 19:18).

9. Ninth COMMANDMENT: Jesus listed the prohibition against lying as continuing to be in force (Matthew 19:18).

10. 10th COMMANDMENT: Jesus and Paul taught that Christians should not covet (Luke 12:15; Romans 7:7).

"This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success." _(Joshua 1:8)."

Why do people have differing definition of sin? The saddest part is that people seem to have played as a god of themselves. They think that they can define sin by their own standards and understanding. When it comes to knowing the truth, it is only by Godโ€™s word that we can truly establish what the truth is. In this post, I will submit to you 3 definitions of sin straight from the pages of the Bible.

1. Sin is the transgression of the Law.

โ€œWhoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessnessโ€ (I John 3:4).

In this verse, we can read that sin is lawlessness. In King James Version, I John 3:4 is translated as, โ€œWhosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.โ€

Transgression means, โ€œThe act of passing over or beyond any law or rule of moral duty; the violation of a law or known principle of rectitude; breach of commandโ€.

From this verse, we can say that whoever disobeys Godโ€™s commandments, he is guilty of sin.

2. Sin is not doing what is good.

โ€œTherefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sinโ€ (James 4:17).

Sin is not just doing something bad to others or to God, but it is also not doing what is good. This verse is resonant to what Jesus said, โ€œTherefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to themโ€ฆโ€ (Matthew 7:12). This means that you should not be like a hermit who will try to live in the mountain and seclude yourself from the civilization just to avoid sinning. Christianity is more than that. It is being consciously and actively finding opportunity to do good.

3. Sin is whatever not from Faith.

โ€œโ€ฆ for whatever is not from faith is sinโ€ (Romans 14:23).

This verse tells us that doubting and doing something against your faith is sin. If your faith tells you that you should not do something and yet do it still, you will be guilty of sin. Sometimes, an act is not necessarily a sin but it becomes a sin if done against your belief, faith, and conscience. For example is keeping Christmas. You know that it is not of the Christian faith to keep Christmas and yet you still celebrate it, then you are sinning.

These are the three basic definition of sin found in the Bible. Knowing these definitions will help us to battle sin more effectively. Know your enemy and win the battle in the end.

In (Matthew 22:17-21) the Pharisees tested Jesus about taxation, whether it was lawful or not to pay tax to Caesar. Caesar here represents an evil ruler, in our own case, he represents the devil.

Jesus in His wisdom asked them to produce the money, and when they did, He turned to the image on it and asked them whose image it was, of course they all chorused that it was Caesarโ€™s image. That answer decides the matter, for He asked them to give to Caesar what belonged to him meaning they should pay tax because Caesarโ€™s image was on the tax money. Caesarโ€™s picture was on it, so that made the money to belong to him.

We understand that this issue of using image to determine who owns the money is also what applies to man, in the end. Our final destination would be determined by whose image we bear!

God has an image and the devil has an image too. Human beings are the objects of controversy this time around. โ€œDoes this man belong to God or to the devil?โ€ โ€œShould this man go to Heaven where God rules, or to hell where the devil rules?โ€ These are the spiritual questions that would be settled in the same way as the tax money was settled, at the judgment day.

The meaning is this whosoever has his image on any man, the same is the owner. If Satan has his image on someone, then Satan is the owner of that person, and if Godโ€™s image, then the person belongs to God.

Therefore, on the long run in the final analysis, it is the image we bear that would decide where we go! It is whose image we bear that would determine to whom we belong- God or the devil.

The Lord God is a righteous Judge, That He will never cover the truth. The tax money had the image of Caesar on it and so the Lord said it should be given to Caesar. Even though Caesar was an evil man, yet the Lord did not deny him what belonged to him.

In the same way, if a man is bearing the image of the devil, the righteous God would not say otherwise. He would say this man is bearing the image of the devil, therefore release him to the devil! That is how people go to hell fire. When we live on earth and do things that turn us into the image of the devil, then the final consequence is hell fire.

Godโ€™s love for us does not cover the truth! This is the mystery we need to know, for many people do wonder why the good God would allow people be cast into hell fire. That is all! Man was given free will to chose to do what is right or wrong. It's up to him. Repent and stop using those marine product.

It is no marvel that the devil does not love field preaching! Neither do I; I love a commodious room, a soft cushion, a handsome pulpit. But where is my zeal if I do not trample all these underfoot in order to save one more soul?

Waiting for sinners to come to Church is like waiting for criminals to take themselves to the police. Evangelism should be our supreme task..

Our Lord of a blessed memory Jesus Christ died in the active service of His Father and He signed OUT with an order to us ......"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned." _(Mark 16:15-16)

Church, let's wake up from our slumber and do the work of our Lord and savior.

Others may slumber, we can not..
God bless us all.

FIND YOUR PURPOSE, THE WORLD IS WAITING FOR YOU.
(Ref: Romans 8:19)

"For the creation waits with eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed."(Romans 8:19)

Have you ever sat down and asked yourself why you were created?
Don't you think there is a reason for your existence? As an individual, God has a purpose for each and everyone of us.

There's a peculiar reason why God brought you to this world. You shouldn't just sit there and wail away time and keep your gifts and potentials to yourself, use it for God's Devine purpose. Rise up and do the needful.

The world is waiting for you, generations to come are looking up to you. Would you like to disappoint everyone and God who created you for a purpose?

Knowing what to do is important but; the purpose of Christian faith is doing what you know!

Your purpose can be singing, teaching, preaching, writing, counselling, giving, caring and several of them. You're born to impact lives, this is not for just a group of people but everyone.

All you have to do is to seek for your purpose and work towards it. Notice your passion and interest and show forth God's glory. Seek for Godly counsels and do exploits for God.

Be active in Kingdom services and live your life to please God.

By accepting salvation, this is the genuine way of finding your purpose in life. It gives you access to God's plan for your life.

God knows His own and He is always happy seeing His children doing exploits for Him.

For none saved, give your life to Jesus, and discover your God's given purpose and work towards it.

Live a purpose driven life, the world is waiting for you. You were not born just to go and work, pay bills and then die; No! go and find your purpose.

LEVEL 1: YEARS OF PREPARATION.
Before God using a person, He begins by giving him or her a burden for dying souls in the world. At this level, Jesus alone and going to Heaven is our message.

These are not necessarily the years you spend in the Bible School, but the years when you feel a burden of evangelism to the dying souls in the world. It may be reaching out door to door, street evangelism, etc. Congratulations in advance if you have a burden for souls.

LEVEL 2: YEARS OF FULFILLMENT.
After much preparation, every believer is expected to turn the cities and the world upside down.

This is very evident with the Apostles of the Early church, after the years of preparation they spent with Jesus they turned the cities upside down _(Acts 17:6). Child of God, at this level preaching the Word in power is the Command.

LEVEL 3: FADING AWAY YEARS.
Fading away is not in terms of backsliding, but the years of reflecting on the times when you were traveling from corner to corner preaching the Word, and now comes a time when you want to jump and your bones will say come back here.

In his fading away years, Apostle Paul said...

"Now , behold, I know that you all, among whom I went about preaching God's kingdom, will see my face no more. Therefore I testify to you today that I am clean from the blood of all men, for I didn't shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God. Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the Church of God which He purchased with His own blood. (Acts 20:25-28.)"

This level of " Fading away years" is about confounding, and establishing the young generation in ministry.

Therefore, if you are a young man or woman, these are your years to minister. If you don't get drunk with the ANOINTING now, I don't know when you are going to do so! God bless you.

yourself: is it comely that a woman pray
unto God uncovered?

Head covering by women has been the
custom among Christians from the early
church. The practice of women leaving
their hair uncovered during service, when
praying and preaching, came from the
discovery of modern theologians and
those in search for Christian liberty. These
seek for any blurred word, phrase or
sentence in the Bible to establish their
contrary doctrine.

1 Corithians 11:5, But every woman that
prayeth or prophesieth with her head
uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is all as if she were shaven.

Here the woman is instructed to keep her head in a condition contrary to that of a man; she should cover her head when praying or prophesying. Not to do do is dishonoring her head and disobey the order set by God. Also not covering her head with veil has the same implication as when she is shaven.

1 Corinthians 11:5-7
"5- But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.

6- For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.

7- For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man."

Those who are argumentative about this are carnal men/women who are not mindful of the holiness and perfection of believers and the Christ's Church.

A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD.

Brethren, I greet you all with the love of God. Beloved, have you read your Bible today?

The reason why many Christians have lost and gone back in the world is because they are contented with what comes from the mouth of man, they are not searching and kneeling before God to know from The Mouth of God.

They are being driven and motivated by people's words, quotes and sayings.

As Christians, the Word of God is A SWORD to shape us, not a motivation. Never be motivated by people's words but, "Search from the book of the Lord and read.(Isaiah 34:16)"

The Bible says... " This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.(Joshua 1:8)"

No one can grow in the Grace of God without reading God's Word, you can be sure of that. So don't be a victim of backsliding because you've failed to know what God has for you in His Word.

Sell your precious cloth and buy The Sword, which is the Word of God.

At any price, buy The Book of God. Read it, pray in it, God has a plan for your life. Be blessed.

Like Our page; ๐™ฒ๐™ท๐š๐™ธ๐š‚๐šƒ ๐™ป๐™ธ๐š…๐™ด๐šƒ๐™ท ๐™ธ๐™ฝ ๐™ผ๐™ด , we preach Holiness.... "Without Holiness, no one shall see the Lord. " _(Hebrews 12:14.)
