Romans 1:16 KJB
For I am not ashamed of the *gospel of Christ* for it is the power of God unto *SALVATION* to every one that *BELIEVETH- [trust-in]...”

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJB
[1] Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you THE GOSPEL which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

[2] BY which also YE ARE SAVED, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

[3] For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS according to the scriptures;

[4] And that HE WAS BURIED, and that HE ROSE AGAIN the third day according to the scriptures.

The Gospel that Saves..
Jesus Christ shed his blood, died to redeem us and rose from the grave to gift us with eternal life for all who believe.

Nothing More, Nothing Less.

THE GOSPEL THAT SAVES US TODAY

We will be judged by Christ according to the gospel of Christ that apostle Paul preached ...

Romans 2:16 (KJV): "In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to MY GOSPEL."

Apostle Paul delivers to us TODAY the promise of salvation from God ...

Romans 1:16 (KJV): "For I am not ashamed of THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST [ i.e 1Cor 15:1-4 ]: for it is the power of God unto SALVATION TO EVERY ONE THAT BELIEVETH;"

Apostle Paul tells us how we are saved TODAY, but under what conditions ...

Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV): "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that NOT of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] NOT of works, lest any man should boast."

Apostle Paul gives us the process TODAY which leads up to the salvation event ...

Ephesians 1:13 (KJV): "In whom [ i.e. Christ ] ye also TRUSTED, after that ye HEARD the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation [ i.e. 1Cor 15:1-4 ]: in whom also after that ye BELIEVED, ye were SEALED with that holy Spirit of promise,"

1st - TRUST in Christ;

2nd - HEAR the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation (Ro 2:16; Ro 1:16; 1Cor 15:1-4; Eph 1:13; Eph 2:8-9 KJV);

3rd - BELIEVE and you are SEALED (and saved).

In Ephesians 1:13, above, notice the time element "after that" used after 'TRUSTED' and 'HEARD.'

Also, notice that that time phrase is missing after 'BELIEVED'.

Why?

Because the instant you have believed --- WITHOUT WORKS -- you are SEALED and saved.

WHAT IS A "WORK"?

According to Paul a "work" is anything you have done (Tit 3:5-7 KJV); its anything you've tried to add to grace and faith and any attempt "of yourselves" makes faith of none effect (Rom 4:14 KJV).

When wanting to obtain salvation, works of the law hinders grace and voids faith (Gal 2:21; Rom 4:14; 1Cor 1:17 KJV).

Grace and faith are the very things needed for salvation (Gal 2:7-8 KJV)!

We are saved by grace through faith (Gal 2:16 KJV), without the works of the law (Rom 3:28 KJV).

And according to Paul, PRAYER is a "work" (Col 4:12 KJV).

This is how we know that FAITH (believing) is NOT a work ...

Romans 4:5 (KJV): “But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness"

FAITH is simply believing that what God has said in his written word (KJV) is true (Ro 10:17 KJV).

We are justified by faith which excludes the works of the Law-Ro 3:28.

Faith is not a work so there is no boasting when it comes to faith.

Here's how we KNOW ...

Romans 3:26-28 (KJV): “To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. [27] Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. [28] Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.”

Paul is your apostle! Believe the gospel as Paul preached it based on the authority of God written word to you!

Simply BELIEVE 1Corinthians 15:1-4 plus nothing, to be saved TODAY and forever!

Apostle Paul declares the gospel of your salvation for TODAY which we are required to believe (by faith) without works ...

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 (KJV): "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you THE GOSPEL which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; [2] BY WHICH ALSO YE ARE SAVED, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. [3] For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how THAT CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS according to the scriptures; [4] AND THAT HE WAS BURIED, AND THAT HE ROSE AGAIN the third day according to the scriptures:"

BELIEVE 1Cor 15:1-4 without doing, saying, or praying anything, and you are SEALED and saved!

Grace to you!

HOW ARE THE LOST SAVED?

"Therefore being justified by FAITH, we have PEACE with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:" (Romans 5:1 KJV)

We don't make PEACE with God by anything we do. We have PEACE with God because we have been justified by FAITH, not because we have done some good works.

ACCEPTING Jesus as Lord and personal Saviour is man's terms of salvation, not God's terms. The Bible does not teach such a doctrine. The Bible teaches that we are saved by BELIEVING the GOSPEL.

"For I am not ashamed of the GOSPEL of Christ: for it is the power of God unto SALVATION to everyone that BELIEVETH;" (Romans 1:16 KJV)

The POWER of salvation is in BELIEVING the GOSPEL, not ACCEPTING Jesus as Lord and Saviour. What is the GOSPEL? Paul DECLARED the GOSPEL in 1 Corinthians. So for us to be saved we must BELIEVE that Christ DIED for our sins, was BURIED and ROSE again the third day (1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV).

Next time you go out to preach, ensure you preach the right message, which is the cross. Explain to the lost how Christ paid the penalty for their sins on the cross. Tell them to BELIEVE that Christ DIED for their sins, was BURIED and ROSE again the third day for their justification. Telling people to ACCEPT Christ as Lord and Saviour will not save anyone because such a message has no cross in it. Christ is not like a politician on a campaign trail looking for people to ACCEPT him. It is us who need to be ACCEPTED by him. When we BELIEVE the GOSPEL, He ACCEPTS us.

"To the praise of the glory of his GRACE, wherein he hath made us ACCEPTED in the beloved." (Ephesians 1:6 KJV)

We do not ACCEPT Christ, but Christ ACCEPTS us when BELIEVE that He DIED for our sins, was BURIED and ROSE again the third day.
