*Boys'and Girls' Brigade Bulungi bwansi Day*
Today 7th October 2022 members of Brigade Fellowship in Namirembe Diocese under the Youth Department have carried out community voluntary work (Bulungi bwansi) at Kiruddu hospital premises.
Over years Brigade is known for its community services especially in the field of health to promote positive living. Today a team of 50 youth led by the Diocesan Youth Secretary Mr. Lule Tefeero and the Assistant Field Officer Lt. Dian Muguluma carried out general cleaning at the hospital which included rubbish picking, compound scrambing, clearing the drainage system, washing of rubbish bins etc. The youth were also joined by some staff in the cleaning exercise.
Bulungi bwansi is one of the many activities being done in line with the Founders Day celebrations scheduled to take place on 9th October 2022. The rest being a health camp mainly for HIV/AIDS, blood donation, good turn, drill (Parade) and environmental awareness .
On arrival the youth were engaged in a health talk on positive living, orientation about the hospital premises and the health services being provided at Kiruddu.
The cleaning kicked off immediately after the talk and it lasted for 2 hours. According to the Youth Secretary, this general cleaning is a sign of the relevance of the youth towards national development. As leaders its our responsibility to guide, teach, train and empower the youth to live responsibly.
We thank Rev. Edward Gombe the Parish Priest of Munyonyo for supporting the youth to realize this activity.
