JESUS IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE.

John 14:6, Jesus told him “I am the Way, the Truth, and d the Life.No one can come to the Father except through me.”
- I believe no one who has ever lived has been misunderstood
more than the young teacher who happened to be born, not by preference but by promise, through the line of the Old Testament
Hebrew patriarch Abraham—Jesus the Christ.
- Misunderstanding Jesus has caused Muslims to reject Him, Hindus to suspect Him, Buddhists to ignore Him, atheists to hate Him, and agnostics to deny Him.
- But according to Scripture, John recorded a conversation in which the Lord stated that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life
- These are actually three descriptions of the character of Jesus.
JESUS "THE WAY"
- Jesus as the Way speaks to us ultimately concerning the crucifixion of His Body that would open a new and living way for mankind to enter into relationship and fellowship with God (Heb 5:9, 10:19-23).
- From this ultimate sacrifice of Christ offering His Body, we can see other aspects of Jesus being the “Way” from other Scriptures
a. Jesus is the only Way (door) to God (Mt. 7:14,Jn. 10:1-9, Jn.)
b. Jesus is the only way of escape from the wrath of God that will come upon ungodliness (Rom 5:9; 1Thes 5:9).
c. Peter shares with us that Jesus is the way of truth (1 Pet. 2:2), the right way (2:15), and the way of righteousness (2:21)
- What gives credence to all the other aspects of Jesus being the way is His work at Calvary, removing the wall of partition between God and man.
- Jesus is the way into the Holy of Holies (Heb. 9:8-15).
- Through faith in the redemptive work of Christ on the cross, we now have access to the Father by a new and living Way.
- All of the feasts of the Lord, recorded in the Old Testament were mere shadows, teaching us of the reality that would come in another dispensation.
- For eternal purposes, shadows cannot supply what is needed.
- Therefore, shadows must give way to the real
- The dispensation of the reality has come.
- The redemptive work of Christ was successful to supply us with the real.
- Thus we must seek the living Christ and enter into the works He has accomplished.
- It was not the offering of the bulls and goats that offered a living way to fellowship with God because they could only supply the worshiper with a few moments in the presence of God and not a lifestyle.
- They could only supply the worshiper with a visit into the Holy of Holies and not a dwelling in God’s presence or continuous fellowship.
- Our right to the presence of the Father was set in motion as Christ’s body (flesh) hung on the cross and was established for all time when He sprinkled His own blood in the True Holy of Holies.
- This sacrifice of His body opened access to God for us, a new and living way.
- This new and living Way has given mankind an opportunity to enter into fellowship with God.
- On the day that Jesus was crucified, right before He committed His spirit into the Father’s hands, He declared, “IT IS FINISHED,”(John 19:30)
- All the work needful to satisfy the Universal Court which had declared mankind guilty of treason against God had been completed

THE BLOOD OF JESUS, A REMEDY TO MAN’S FALSE COVERINGS.

Genesis 3:7, “Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loin coverings.”
-When sin entered in, Adam and Eve covered themselves with fig leaves since the divine presence left them.
-When Adam and Eve disobeyed God as their eyes were opened and they felt ashamed to be naked, their response was to cover themselves up.
-It is interesting to note the root nature of their decision was not based upon society or law or even what God told them.
-They knew by nature the area of the groin must be covered to avoid shame.
-Even this attempt to satisfy their guilt of being naked was not sufficient.
-Man’s coverings are as FILTHY RAGS in the eyes of God.
-Adam and Eve attempted to cover their nakedness with fig leaves but by Adam’s own admission, did not fully cover what needed to be done.
-He told God that he was still naked even though the loins were covered with the fig leaves.
-This is later affirmed when God shows He was not pleased with the coverings Adam and Eve made and covered them with “tunics of skin, and clothed them.”
-This is not different today; God is not pleased with man’s false coverings in the church world, and so offers the remedy- the blood of Jesus, through a substitution death (the great exchange).
-Our own attempts to cover ourselves are never enough in the sight of God.
-Those attempts are as filthy rags because they never achieve the standards that God, in His perfection, expects.
-God killed an innocent animal (shed its blood) in place of sinful man. (Genesis 3:21).
-Why did the animal have to die?
-It did not die at the result of any guilt of its own.
-It was innocent, not having violated God’s law.
-It did not die at the hands of another animal.
-There was no violence in the world until this very incident.
-It did not die on its own.
-Death is the result of sin (James 1:15), and there was no sin in the world until this very incident.
-It did not die at the hand of man for meat. Man lived on a non-meat diet until the day of Noah many centuries later (Genesis 9:3).
-Rather, this innocent animal died at the hand of God and as a sacrifice for the sin of the guilty.
-Its skin was removed for their covering. Therefore its blood was shed as a sacrifice for the guilty.
-The sacrificial death of this animal is a glorious foreshadow of Jesus Christ. He is “the Lamb of God” (John 1:36).
-Like that first sacrificial animal, Christ also is innocent: “as… a lamb without blemish and without spot” (1Peter 1:19).
-Like that first sacrificial animal which was killed, Christ also gave His life, being in the eternal decree of God “…. written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been slain.” “Revelation 13:8”
-Like that first sacrificial animal which was killed in its innocence for the sin of Adam and Eve, Christ is “The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29).
-HE TOOK AWAY THE SIN OF THE WORLD BY SHEDDING HIS OWN BLOOD FOR THE GUILTY

A SPIRITUAL LEADER’S VISION

Habakkuk 2:1, “I will climb up to my watchtower and stand at my guardpost. There l will wait to see what the Lord says and how He will answer my complaint.”
- Habakkuk climbed his watchtower, awaiting God’s answer to his complaint.
- The watchman and watchtower are often used by the prophets to show an attitude of expectation, Isaiah 21:8, Jer 6:17, Ezek 3:17.
- The same was Habakkuk’s attitude of patiently waiting and watching for God’s response.
- The Lord’s answer was that Habakkuk should write his billboard, large and clear, so that anyone can read it at a glance and rush to tell others.
- God went on to say that it would not happen right away.
- It would be at a slow, steady pace until the time came for the vision to be fulfilled.
- The Lord counseled Habakkuk to be patient, for it would happen as He said.
- Habakkuk was waiting in faith for the Lord to speak to him.
- God will give us direction if we dare ask Him and wait for His answer.
- At our request, God will give answer by His Word, His Spirit, and providence.
- He will never disappoint the believing expectations of one waiting what He will say.
- Though it may be deferred for a time, it will come and the one who awaits it will not be disappointed by waiting.
- It is the Divine revelation from God that gives us guidance.
- The writer of Proverbs says that, “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keeps the law, happy is he.”

EXPOSE THE LIGHT
Mattew 5:14-16- Jesus said that we are not to hide the lihgt, but put it in a position where it will maximise its effectiveness.
-We are to live our lives in such a manner that the revelation of Jesus Christ can be seen clearly.
-We are to constantly keep in mind that whatever we do as vessels bearing the Truth of the Gospel, must bring INCREASE in other's gaining insight into the knowledge of the grace available in Christ Jesus.

THE SECRET OF WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST
Rev 5:10, "And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth".
-We are kings & priests. But, most of us who claim Christ as our Lord & saviour have a problem with that thinking.
-We have aproblem daring to believe that we have ruler-ship in our hands.
-Most christians do not have a true perception of who they really are.
-It is common all over the church world.
-Having been programmed by the world, we tend to answer according to our programming, or we do not answer at all.
-Few, with revelation know the truth; we are kings & priests to our God Ex 19;6, Rev 1;6, Rev 5;10
-We should notice that God says He has already made us kings & priests.
-The scripture is in the past tense, indicating that it has already happened for those who believe & know it.
-We are to reign as kings & priests in this life.
-Even now, with Christ as our head, we are to reign on the earth.
-The church is responsible for what is going on, like it or not.
-Our responsibility is to proclaim as He proclaimed, "Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done".(Mt 6:10)
-Individuals reign now in their own lives & influence; then the church will universally reign with Him.
-Our responsibility today is to speak not "words" but the Word concerning the things that we see are illegal in heaven & bind them up, so as to require them to stop, Mt 16;19, Mt 18;18
-This should be done all over the world. But it seems the church has sat so long on her "do-nothing" attitude & self assurance that the nation is going to a hot place in a hand-basket
-We have authority to bind & loose, prayer is the most important work of the believer.
-This is a call to all, wake-up & pray.
-Our commission is to call in the fire we need to take out the enemy.
-Mk 13;36-37, "Don't let Him find you sleeping when He arrives without warning. I say to you what i say to every one; watch for Him".

THE MEANING OF FAITH Hebrews 11;1

-Faith is that invisible force that links us to God & the supernatural.
-It is that eye that sees & believes in God.
-It is that hand that clings to Him & receives His promises.
-It is that foot that treads in the narrow way to meet the master on the other side of the dark alley.
-Faith is one of the most important spiritural ingredients because it is impossible to communicate with the Lord without it.
-Heb 11;6 scripture says, "And it is impossible to please God without faith.........."
-Faith comes only one way, that is by hearing the word of God (Rom 10;17)
-Therefore, we have to learn to develop a personal faith that is based on God's written word.
-Each one of us has a certain measure of faith, & it is upon this faith that more faith is built.
-We should allow our faith to be fully born within us and, like a precious child, we should protect it,feed it & let it grow into maturity, Isaiah 28;10
