Luwero Muslim Women Encouraged to Embrace Saving Culture Within Mosque, County and District SACCOs
Luwero Muslim Women have been encouraged to embrace a strong saving culture through organized Mosque, County, and District SACCO structures as a pathway towards economic empowerment, unity, and sustainable community development.
This message was delivered by Sheikh Hajji Mulindwa Ramadhan Swaib Nsanja, District Kadhi of Luwero Muslim District, during a strategic meeting with County Muslim Women Leaders from the 10 Muslim Counties of Luwero Muslim District.
The meeting focused on laying strategies aimed at mobilizing Muslim women at Mosque and County grassroots levels to actively join and participate in structured saving groups and SACCO initiatives. Leaders discussed practical approaches to strengthen womenโs economic participation, financial discipline, and household stability through collective saving and investment programs.
While addressing the leaders, Sheikh Mulindwa emphasized the importance of purposeful saving and community unity.
He encouraged women to โsave for a purposeโ and to focus on building strong relationships within their communities through cooperation, accountability, and mutual support.
The District Kadhi further urged the women leaders to uphold transparency and integrity while executing their responsibilities, noting that trust remains a fundamental pillar in the success and sustainability of SACCOs and community organizations.
โTrust is capital and a key component in creating and building a strong foundation for any successful SACCO,โ Sheikh Mulindwa stated.
He also reaffirmed the commitment of Luwero Muslim District leadership towards supporting women-led development initiatives that promote self-reliance, financial inclusion, and social transformation within Muslim communities.
Speaking during the meeting, Hajat Jimia Musa Ssenkanja, the Chairperson of Luwero Muslim District Amirats and Women SACCO, appreciated the District Kadhi for his continued support towards women empowerment and development programs.
She commended the District leadership for recognizing the important role women play in community development and pledged continued commitment towards mobilizing women to join saving groups and SACCO programs across the district.
The meeting concluded with renewed commitments from the County Women Leaders to intensify grassroots mobilization and strengthen economic empowerment initiatives among Muslim women throughout Luwero District.
