Good afternoon family
Here is what you missed in Sunday main service sermon
By apostle Godfrey mugyenzi
THEME: BUILD A GOOD RELATIONSHIP WITH PEOPLE
2 KINGS 4:1-7
One day, the widow of a member of the group of prophets came to Elisha and cried out, *My husband who served you is dead, and you know how he feared the lord. But now a creditor has come, threatening to take my two sons as slaves.
Elisha asked her "what can I do to help you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?...
The widow replied that nothing at all except a flask of Olive.
Elisha told her to borrow as many empty jars as she could from her friends and neighbors and go into her house with her sons and shut the door behind herself and then pour olive oil from her flask into the jars setting each one aside when it is filled.
The widow did as she was told her sons kept bringing jars to her and she filled one after another until they all filled to the brim and when they could bring no more the oil stopped flowing.
Elisha told her to sell the oil pay the debt and use the balance her and her sons to take care of themselves.
The first issue here is that the prophet died with a debt because he neither had a good relationship with people nor his senior minister like many ministers in the church today they don't have that relationship with their pastors and it's the same reason they die with their problems.
But these scriptures show us that sharing your problem with your senior minister will get your problem solved. The widow ran to Elisha and shared with him her problem and Elisha solved the problem not with HIS MONEY but from the advice given.
It's also good to do what you have been told to do and this is where the problem comes from. In this case if this woman didn't have a good relationship with neighbors and or have friends, her sons would be taken as slaves like her husband died indebted.
Brethren God uses people in our lives and it's wrong to despise people claiming you have God.
However, you're not supposed to beg people because that will be the easiest way of spoiling your relationship with them through your good relationship with God, he will use people in the way he deems fit.
In your relationship with people there are things you are supposed to keep to yourself which include but not limited to how you do your things that's why the widow was told to close the door behind herself and pour from the flask to the jars.
People will just see what comes out of what you have done.
It is very important to note that if the widow didn't have a good relationship with people they wouldn't give her their jars
And today I'm asking everybody reading this to ask themselves if the same had been told him or her, do they have that relationship with neighbors and friends to help?
