Benny Hinn talks about restoring his marriage and says, "I learned the danger of the anointing."
"If the anointing on your heart begins to weaken, the anointing that is in your ministry will destroy you," warned Benny Hinn. Benny Hinn, one of the best known preachers in the world, during one of his sermons declared:
"The anointing of my office has nothing to do with the anointing of my life." This phrase summarized the apex of Benny Hinn's preaching during the Prophetic School conducted by the Joel Engel Ministry last Thursday (19), in Campinas, in the state of São Paulo.
Benny said he was intrigued to see preachers who, even though they were living sinful lives, were filled with God's anointing in their preaching. "I thought: How can they be anointed if they live a frivolous life? I met a man who had four girlfriends, and when he preached on Sunday morning: power! And I thought: how can this happen?"
The preacher says that these questions began to arise when he was young in the ministry. "When you're in a ministry like me, you end up meeting a lot of people, and you hear a lot of things behind doors. Some of these preachers that I met when I was young were just impure and immoral people. But I didn't want to pay too much attention to that, because I knew this could mess with me. So I was ignoring it.
" The start of the fights
To authoritatively illustrate the message of the preaching, Benny Hinn used his own life experience, exposing in the pulpit the struggles he faced in his family and ministry. "In 2010, I went through a challenge in my life, and that can happen to anyone," he observed.
"My wife comes from a big family, very rich in spirit. Her father ended up losing the ministry for a woman. It happened, I don't have to deny it; and the family was destroyed. When my father-in-law lost his church - the largest church in the world. USA - His son was found dead from a drug overdose. My wife's two sisters have gone astray, and to this day are out of the Lord's way. When Roy lost the ministry, his family fell apart, "says Benny Hinn.
Consequences of divorce
After the scandal in the family of his wife, Suzanne Hinn, a turbulent period marked the process of separation of the couple. "My wife began to struggle with her identity. I was traveling, preaching and ministering while my wife was emotionally dying. We ended up facing divorce," says the preacher.
The couple was separated for three years, causing great controversy in the evangelical milieu and a shaking in Benny's family, ministerial and spiritual life. "These three years have been very terrible. One day, my wife and I went to have a long conversation, and it was horrible, a war. And as a result of this divorce, my spiritual strength began to be affected," he says.
Family tremor
"My children started to suffer as a result of that. They were very angry and hurt. And then you start to see your family fall apart," he says.
From this stage, Benny Hinn took a great learning and warned: "I don't care who you are, or how strong you are, but when your family starts to crumble, your walk with God is affected. This affects your prayer life, your hunger. , and you start fighting to survive. You can't focus spiritually when you're in survival mode. "
"Unshakable" Ministry
Even with all the events in his personal life, the anointing remained on Benny Hinn's ministry. "This started to mess with me. I would ask him: 'Lord, why are you anointing me knowing that I am fighting for my life?' At first he did not answer me, but I began to realize day after day the danger I was in."
"I was going to a crusade or a service and God used me. One day I prayed:" Dear Jesus, I know what Lord said in the Scriptures, that many will come saying "Lord, Lord, we did great things in your name", but you you will say "I don't know you". And the tears flow down my face. And I looked up and said, "Dear Jesus, don't let me be one of them," the preacher opens to some 3,500 leaders, gathered to hear his ministration.
The transformation
"Do you know what has changed?" He asks the church. "When God began to visit my life. I went so low, deep down, and I said: "I am not going to continue another day, I am not going to preach one more message, unless the Lord visits my life," he said.
“The Lord already visited me when I did not know Him, I wanted Him to visit me again. This prayer came from my heart, and I don't even know why I said that: "Dear Jesus, even if the Lord sends me to hell, I will still love you." And I felt the touch of the Holy Spirit ”, Benny explained, sincerely, his experience with God.
"When I said, everything changed. I have discovered Jesus in a whole new way, and he began to restore my own life. This started to happen in 2011 and it has been impressive until today," he said.
Marriage restoration
Benny Hinn said his commitment to God was the key to restoring his family. "That's what healed my family. My wife looked me in the face, and said, 'Benn, I see Jesus in your eyes. We are going to be together again."
"Thank God, today the Lord healed my marriage. I'm going to say something: in our case, divorce is the best thing that ever happened to us. Some pastors here were at my wedding, the second marriage with the same woman. The Lord healed our relationship and my wife completely, ”says the preacher.
The danger of the anointing
Benny Hinn explained that the anointing that came from his sincere surrender to Jesus was what changed his life. However, there is a clear difference between the personal anointing, which has a direct link with the presence of Jesus in a person's life, and the ministerial anointing, which is related to the office that God placed in the hand of man.
"I learned the danger of that. I began to understand that the anointing of my office has nothing to do with the anointing in my life. The anointing in my life is what keeps the fire of God in my soul. It is that anointing in our hearts that need to be cared for, "he said." Anointing in ministry is like a weight you carry. If the anointing of your heart begins to weaken, the anointing that is in your ministry will destroy you ”, he warns ...
