JESUS AT THE CENTER
(COLOSSIANS 3:12-17)
Christ is the center of everything;
Center of our faith and prayer
He’s our only hope as Christians
He is at the center because of who he is
He gives us the power to see it through by making us alive in Christ, forgiven and victorious
He is to be at the center of our mind, our thinking, decisions and plans.
Today we focus on the idea that Christ is the center of our lives. This captured the thoughts of Colossians. I pray that it captures our hearts as we consider that there is no part in our lives that escapes the presence of Christ and that’s the comfort for all of us as Christians.
When we read from Colossians 3, it provides us a guide on how to use freedom in Christ to stay above sin and how to keep Christ first in everything that we do. Colossians 3:12-13, speaks about clothing ourselves with kindness, compassion, humility, gentleness and patience. This calls us to bear with each other and forgive whatever grievance we have against one another for when we have Christ at the center we reason everything in a way of Christ. At this time if you have a problem with your neighbor its high time you became one with him/her because we may not know what tomorrow may bring. In chapters 14 and 15 encourages us to love and bear with each other just like Christ loved us as we all know that love covers a multitude of things. Chapter 16, says ‘Christ’s message with all its richness MUST live in your hearts’ and this is our assurance as Christians that Christ lives in us as long as we accept him.
At this time when we seem not to be knowing what will be next after the lockdown and when will that be, its high time we tried our best to involve God in everything we do, if you have been trusting him for academics, am sure now u have seen the reason to trust him more even when academics are no longer going on, whether in peace or sorrow, good or bad, in failure or success, in lack and in plenty. Let’s put God at the center while we talk, walk, look, make decisions or plans and etc. because he has better plans for us just as he said in Jeremiah 29:11. Up to now if a day comes down and you are too busy to say thank you God, my friend in good faith lets create time for god in our hearts. The psalmist says;
Jesus at the center of it all *2
From beginning to the end
It will always be, it’s always been you, Jesus
When you continue with this song he says Jesus be the center of my life and also says nothing else matters, nothing else will do, Jesus you are the center and everything revolves about you Jesus.
I pray we meditate about this song and realize that nothing matters without him.
May god bless you.
