President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has expressed his gratitude towards the Catholic Church for empowering the youths into wealth creation. He said this while closing the five days annual National Catholic Youth Conference at Our Lady of Lourdes Bujumbura Cathedral in Hoima City, which brought together over 15,000 youth from the East African region.

The President noted that as a former youth who has been active from a young age, he is happy with the Catholic Church for organizing this conference that was reinforcing the government's efforts to empower youth to become wealth creators rather than mere spectators.

He also pledged Sh200m to Hoima Diocese Youth Center.
