Our journey at in Brazil 🇧🇷

Our organization was represented at the world’s biggest HIV conference, joining thousands of advocates, communities, researchers, policymakers, and partners from across the world to share knowledge, build connections, and discuss the future of the HIV response.

Among the many meaningful spaces was the Tranz Networking Zone, organized by GATE - Global Action for Trans Equality which brought trans and gender-diverse communities together to discuss funding cuts, sustainability, movement building, and the future of the HIV response. It was a powerful space for sharing experiences, strengthening connections, and amplifying trans-led solutions.

Trans-led solutions must remain at the heart of the response

These photos capture some of the sessions, conversations, connections, and memorable moments from our time at the conference.

Yesterday, we joined the rest of the world in marking , reaffirming our commitment to ending stigma and advancing health equity for trans and gender-diverse communities. In Uganda, many q***r, trans, and gender-diverse people continue to face stigma, discrimination, fear, and exclusion when seeking HIV services. These barriers often discourage us from accessing HIV prevention, testing, treatment, and care.

As an organization, we continue working toward a future where everyone can access HIV prevention, treatment, and care with dignity and without discrimination. Together, we can move beyond labels and create communities where everyone belongs.

Healing doesn’t happen in isolation.
At the Nange Healing and Harm Reduction Center, we are creating a space where people who use drugs can heal, connect with others, and find support without fear of judgment.
Recovery and well being begin with dignity, community, and compassion.
Behind every substance, there is a story. Every story deserves support, not punishment.

It’s the reasons like these why we established Nange healing and harm reduction center

Talented Youth Community Fellowship Uganda (TAYCOF), through the Nange Healing and Harm Reduction Center, joined the global Support. ’tPunish Day of Action with support from the Support. Don’t Punish Small Grants Programme.

We conducted a community dialogue bringing together people who use drugs, peer supporters, and community members to discuss harm reduction, human rights, and why support not punishment is essential. Together, we explored the question: “What do people often misunderstand about drug use?” and reflected on how stigma and criminalization affect our lives and communities.
As part of the event, our team designed original art pieces that reflected the realities, resilience, and humanity of people who use drugs. The artwork became a powerful tool for conversation, inviting participants to reflect on compassion, hope, dignity, and the importance of meeting people where they are.
Thank you to everyone who stood with us. Together, we continue to advocate for drug policies grounded in health, human rights, and social justice.
People over punishment. Support. ’t Punish.

Today on International Day of Action for Women’s Health, we affirm that women deserve healthcare that is safe, respectful, affordable, and free from judgment no matter who they are, where they live, what they do, or how they identify. Health is a right, not a privilege. We continue to call for healthcare systems that center dignity, compassion, and access for all women, especially those too often pushed to the margins.
