*THE WORD FOR YOU THIS MONTH OF JUNE 2024*(PSALM 91:15).

He (the believer) will call upon me and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honour him.”

In this scripture the Lord promises us that, when we call on Him:

1. He will answer us
2. He will be with us in trouble
3. He will deliver us
4. He will give us.

*Take note* : However bad things may get, we can take from this scripture that God will remain on our side.

May the above promises be yours this month of June and forever. Amen

St. Stephens day

The Holy Spirit promises to equip and empower us for every situation. *ACTS 6-7*

*LESSONS ABOUT ST. STEPHEN*

He is the very first Christian martyr. It is the holy Spirit that empowered him, ignited in him faith and gave him wisdom to excell in every good work. There are ten good characteristics we can learn from Stephen.

1. Acts 6:1 – *He was relatable* – he was chosen by the disciples to be a deacon because they needed a Greek. Stephen was probably a Greek (or at the very least had a Greek name). He spoke the same language – linguistically & culturally.

2. 6:2 – *He was available & willing* . “Serve tables? Sure I’ll do that!”

3. 6:3 – *He had a *good reputation with his peers* – this means he was honest and reliable, faithful and friendly. It didn’t mean that everyone liked him but it did mean that he gave no reason for people to dislike him.

4. 6:3 – *He was full of the Holy Spirit –* an essential quality

5. 6:3 – *He was full of wisdom* – he knew how to apply Biblical truths

6. 6:8 – *He was full of faith* – the word full incidentally means to have control over not how much faith you have. faith controlled him.

7:8 – He *was full of power –* notice the order that they come – faith then power.

8. 6:9 – He *was an example –* compare Pauls sermons with Stephens and there is a stricking resemblance. Stephen went to synagogues to challenge the leaders – so did Paul.

9. 6:15 – *He had the look of heaven* . C.H. Spurgeon, addressing his students ~~ concerning ministry, said, `Men, when you teach on heaven, let there always be a glow on your face, a gleam in your eye, and a grin on your lips. When you teach on hell, your normal face will do fine.’

10. 7:1-60 – *He believed that God controlled history* – past, present and future.

Come 2024, May the holy spirit empower us like his dear servant Stephen to stand firm to the end for every good work.

Dear brethren today World over we celebrate *God incarnate* - Jessu Christ. Therefore, as we celebrate, we need to acknowledge that the salvation and deliverance of the world and humanity in particular is founded on the truth that:

1. *God became man in the person of Jesus Christ* ( Incarnation); this was realised through the virgin birth - The greatest miracle the world over has ever witnessed. This is what we are celebrating today world over.

2. *Jesus Christ died and rose again.* The miracle of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is central in reconciling man to to one another and Gid.

3. *Jesus Christ is coming soon to deliver the righteous to eternity* (The promise of his second coming). The promise of his second coming (Parousia) is very central in Christian proclamation.

Minus the above truth, the Christian✝message is irrelevant.
