Consider the instruction given in Jonah 3:2 (NKJV):
“Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach to it the message that I tell you.”
Jonah’s assignment was specific. Any deviation—even if it seemed reasonable—was disobedience.
“All things are lawful, but not all things are helpful.” This life is not the end of our destination, so we must not settle for what is temporary.
2 Corinthians 4:18 (NKJV) says:
“While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.”
As spiritual people, we must not live like unspiritual people, or we risk falling away. Always remember—you are chosen by God. You are set apart for His purpose.
Romans 12:2 (NKJV) declares:
“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
The Word of God is Spirit, and it is life. It carries the power to transform how you think, how you see, and how you live.
The Word of God is:
1. A Mirror
It reveals who you truly are.
2 Corinthians 3:18 (NKJV) – “…beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory…”
James 1:23 (NKJV) – The Word shows you your true reflection, not your assumptions.
2. A Lamp (Light)
It guides your path so you do not stumble in darkness. The Word illuminates your steps and keeps you aligned with God’s perfect will.
