The Spanglers2Uganda – Rounding This Thing Up

Well – as much as we have enjoyed sharing our family’s journey with you over the past 2+ years, it is equally tough to come to the conclusion of our journey. We have enjoyed sharing Uganda through the eyes of our family, as well as the wrestling that we went through as we walked through Sarah’s breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. We have also appreciated so much how you have prayed, encouraged and financially supported us and our ministry efforts.
But, we have reached the finish line. We are continuing to settle into life here in Chattanooga since early March. The boys are doing well as they adjust to public school again, and I (Duane) am back to work in the claims business. And like anytime where a family moves to an unfamiliar area, we are working to get used to this newest version of life. It will take a little while longer until this is truly “home”, but we are encouraged as we have already plugged into a church that is very missions-focused, with opportunities in the future to be engaged in missions efforts in some way in the months and years to come.
We will miss sharing our lives with you, but are so thankful that God has allowed us to be an extension of His work in Uganda.

Well, we are slowly making our way through Uganda COVID Lockdown 2.0.

Just before the implementation of the lockdown earlier this past week, FCW was able to host a number of contractor rep’s out to our property as a “preview” ahead of the formal project tender process.

We hope to be breaking ground on the Kipindi Mpito campus by late July/early August.

Exciting times!!! But now we wait - for another long 38 days of Lockdown fun. Wish us luck!

While this is not formally tied to our ministry, it IS a reflection of what God is allowing us to be a part of here in Uganda 🇺🇬- Nicholas is a great young man that helps at our house. However, over the past year or more, he has invested a lot of his earnings into several small business efforts, including this duuka (small neighborhood store). We love the entrepreneurial attitude - and his heart for our family during our time here!
