Mid-way in the feast, refresh my thirsty soul with the flowing waters of piety. For You cried out to all, O Savior, "Let him who thirsts come to me and drink." You, O Christ our God, are the Fountain of Life, glory to You.

MID-PENTECOST: FOURTH WEDNESDAY AFTER PASCHA

Apolytikion of Mid-Pentecost (Tone 8)
Mid-way in the feast, refresh my thirsty soul with the flowing waters of piety. For You cried out to all, O Savior, "Let him who thirsts come to me and drink." You, O Christ our God, are the Fountain of Life, glory to You.

Kontakion of Mid-Pentecost (Tone 8)
The feast according to the Law at its midpoint, O Christ our God, as the Creator and Master of everything, You said to all those who were present there, "Come that you might draw from Me the water of immortality." On 5 May, we commemorate the Holy and Glorious Great Martyr Irene.

Apolytikion of Great Martyr Irene(Tone 1)
Christ called you Irene; for you grant peace to those who celebrate your memory, / hastening to your holy temple with hymns and spiritual songs, / for you intercede for all before the Three-Sunned Divinity, / Let everyone celebrate her memory joyously, glorifying Christ, Who glorified her.

Kontakion (Tone 3)
Adorned with the beauty of virginity, / you became most beautiful in your brave contest, O Irene; / you were tinged with red by the blood which you shed, / and you overturned the ungodly error; / therefore, you received the prize of victory from the hand of your Creator.

FOURTH SUNDAY OF PASCHA AT ST. PAUL - NAKABAALE PARISH.

On the Fourth Sunday of the Resurrection, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated at St. Paul Orthodox Church Nakabaale by Rev. Fr. Chrysostom, assisted by Rev. Fr. Emmanuel, Fr. Joseph, and Deacon Samuel. This was followed by a memorial service for the deceased members of the family of the late Rev. Fr. Foola Joachim Kiyimba. The faithful gathered to honor their memories and give thanks for their service to the Church.
In his sermon on the healing of the paralytic, Fr. Chrysostom called us to embrace patience and perseverance like the man who waited 38 years at Bethesda. He reminded us not to neglect those in need, as others did, but to become instruments of Christ’s compassion by helping and uplifting one another.
May their memory be eternal.
Christ is Risen!

‎Let the heavens sing for joy, and let everything on earth be glad. For with His arm the Lord has worked power. He trampled death under foot by means of death; and He became the firstborn from the dead. From the maw of Hades He delivered us; and He granted the world His great mercy.

THIRD SUNDAY OF PASCHA, CELEBRATED AT ST. JUDE THADDEUS, NAMUTUMBA

Christ is Risen!

On the Third Sunday of the Resurrection, Fr. Koolya Chrysostom celebrated the Divine Liturgy together with a memorial service for the late Kato Paul, a faithful member of St. Jude Thaddeus Orthodox Church, Kagulu, in Namutumba District.

In his homily, he reflected on the Myrrh-bearing Women and the Righteous Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus, urging the faithful to emulate their courage, devotion, and selfless love for Christ—even in times of fear and grief.

He also spoke on the healing mystery of Holy Confession, encouraging the faithful to approach it with sincere repentance and humility. After the Liturgy, Fr. Chrysostom made himself available to hear confessions, guiding the faithful toward spiritual renewal and reconciliation with Christ.

SUNDAY OF THE MYRRH-BEARING WOMEN: THIRD SUNDAY OF PASCHA

Apolytikion (Tone 2)
When You descended unto Death, O Lord, You who are immortal Life put Hades to death, by the lightning of Your divinity. And when You raised the dead from the netherworld, all the hosts of heaven sang aloud to You, "O Christ God, Giver of life, glory to You!"

Apolytikion of Noble Joseph (Tone 2)
When he took down Your immaculate Body from the Cross, the honorable Joseph wrapped it in a clean linen shroud with spices and laid it for burial in a new tomb. But on the third day You rose, O Lord, and granted to the world the great mercy.

Apolytikion of the Myrrh-bearers (Tone 2)
The Angel standing at the sepulcher cried out and said to the ointment-bearing women: The ointments are appropriate for mortal men, but Christ has been shown to be a stranger to decay. So go and cry aloud, The Lord has risen and granted the world His great mercy.

Last evening, with the blessings of Metropolitan Jeronymos of Kampala, Bishop Silvester Kisitu presided over the Trisagion service for the reposed Hon. Helen Nakimuli.
The service was held at the home of the late Fr. Irineos Magimbi, the grandfather of the fallen maidenservant Helen, in Namungoona.
