[39] But our way is not that of those who draw back to eternal misery (perdition) and are utterly destroyed, but we are of those who believe [who cleave to and trust in and rely on God through Jesus Christ, the Messiah] and by faith preserve the soul.

The world will throw everything at you to test your faith and how much your heart is rooted in the creator. The challenges and temptations of this world in themselves can never cease but we have a faithful one who never lets us down or out if his presence.
And so, we are not of those who draw back in hardtimes, challenges because the world will never be fair but we have a reminder that Christ overcame and therefore we shall overcome too. That's the assurance you need to hold onto your most holy faith. Always remember that since you are loved of God, everything works together for your good and once you hold onto that, it shall be well with you.

Returning to God in repentance is a sign of acknowledgement of sin that exposes our failures for the mercy of God to work on us and improve us. But again we should seek the deep knowledge of God and know him at a personal level which takes sacrifice, but God wants a loyal people, a people he can trust to take his word and legacy all over. Then he will come as a rain to wash and cleanse us of our Sin. This is the God we serve.

Being born again does not necessarily mean you know God. For we have received the gift of salvation through christ but we need to work out our salvation and this doesn't come on a platter, you need a violent strategy. Work to have a personal encounter with Christ himself, a personal revelation as Peter had. This revelation acts as a solid ground to establish God's work and we are to accomplish this work. Seek God and he will reveal himself to you and your life will become a difference in this world. God bless as you seek him.
