*Bishop Godfrey Loum's Special Visit to Password Lounge for "I Survived" Concert*
*_Connecting Faith with the Youth_*
Date: February 3, 2024
Excitement filled the air yesterday night as something remarkable unfolded at the Password Lounge. The "I Survived" concert, organized by MC Lucky, became the talk of the town when an unexpected guest made an appearance - the famous Bishop Godfrey Loum from the Diocese of Northern Uganda. I had the privilege of uncovering the reasons behind the bishop's extraordinary visit and the story behind MC Lucky's survival of a major accident.
The event took on a deeper significance when we learned about MC Lucky's miraculous survival. Late last year, on the 23rd Dec 2023, he was involved in a horrific accident that could have claimed his life. However, against all odds, he emerged with his life intact, leading to the conception of the "I Survived" concert. MC Lucky saw this as an opportunity to celebrate his survival and share a message of hope and gratitude with others.
Bishop Loum, hearing about MC Lucky's incredible story, was deeply moved and felt compelled to attend the concert. He recognized the power of MC Lucky's testimony and how it resonated with the struggles faced by the youth in the community. The bishop believed that his presence could serve as a source of inspiration, reminding the younger generation of the importance of faith and the value of second chances.
During the concert, Bishop Loum took the stage and shared a heartfelt message with the young audience. He emphasized the significance of having faith in difficult times, acknowledging that life can throw unexpected challenges our way. The bishop's own experiences and encounters with adversity allowed him to connect with the youth on a personal level, assuring them that they were not alone in their struggles.
Accompanying Bishop Loum was his entourage of including his chaplain Rev. Godfrey Acaye, who also doubles as the diocesan youth worker and Rev. Peter Oola Oyat, the curate of Christ Church Parish Gulu. There were other special guests, including Hon. Aol Betty Ochan, a Member of Parliament known for her dedication to community service. Their presence further highlighted the importance of unity and collaboration in spreading a message of hope and resilience. She encouraged everyone to love their neighbors as the bible instructed.
The concert also featured talented young musicians Mrs. Mercy Bitek and Innocent Owachgiu, these two were part of the bishop's team. They double as youth leaders at Christ Church Parish and are behind the staging of the Christ Church Annual Youth and Students' Conference dubbed *CAYSCO* that vibrantly attracts youth to the thousands at Christ Church Parish from all over the diocese. They sung their soul uplifting songs *"It's not over yet & Goliac poti i dok piny"* before the bishop gave his word of the night. This helped share Christ in their own stories of overcoming hardships through music, given they were composed as theme songs for the two previous Mega Crossover Prayers held at the Parish. The songs carried themes of perseverance, hope, and the transformative power of faith. These heartfelt performances struck a chord with the audience, reminding them that even in the face of adversity, there is always a glimmer of hope.
MC Lucky's survival served as a testament to the power of resilience and the belief that there is a greater purpose at work in our lives. His journey became a beacon of hope for others, urging them to cherish every moment and embrace the blessings that come their way.
The bishop's visit to the "I Survived" concert was a powerful demonstration of his commitment to the youth and his desire to connect with them on a personal level. By attending this secular event, he aimed to bridge the gap between faith and the younger generation, showing them that the Church is not confined to a building, but rather an ever-present source of guidance and support.
Bishop Godfrey Loum in his powerful message has charged the youth to remember their God because at the end of this life, judgement will come and each person shall be judged accordingly and has asked them to give their life to Jesus Christ, when they still have the chance because he saves.
He also cautioned the young generation against reckless living and engagement in acts that could exposes them to HIV/AIDS among other sexually transmitted Diseases. This great concern to the health of the youthful generation is quite remarkable.
The story of MC Lucky's survival and the bishop's visit to the "I Survived" concert serves as a reminder that faith can provide strength and hope in the most challenging circumstances. It demonstrates the power of sharing personal stories and coming together as a community to inspire and uplift one another.
The bishop did not however stay until the end of the concert as he was seen taking a few pictures with the MC immediately before leaving the venue. The impact of Bishop Godfrey Loum's special visit lingered in the hearts of those who attended. It was a reminder that faith knows no boundaries and that miracles can happen even in the face of adversity. The "I Survived" concert served as a powerful platform to connect faith with the youth, reminding them of their own strength and the importance of embracing each day with gratitude and hope.
