Mrs Monica Kyakulaga gave a Lenten sermon on the benefits of fasting to congregants of St. John's Church Entebbe FASTING is first reported in the Bible about 1500 years BC, when Jews faced with challenges only first FASTED (Judges 20:26) then the Lord heard their cries. Esther (Esther 4:16) asked Modecaiah & other Jews to FAST for 3 days, to give her a breakthrough with the king. Jesus (in Mark 9:29) told the disciples that certain illness require ONLY prayer & FASTING before healing. Fasting is therefore for spiritual reasons. It is also for body recuperation, removal of toxins and an opportunity to reflect on your being and spirituality. Most religions revere fasting. Do you have a challenge?
