Good morning / Good afternoon / Good evening wherever you are!
My name is Shawn Campbell, and I am the appointed United States liaison / overseer of the Noah's Ark Boys' home in Bugiri Uganda along with my brother in Christ, Kisakye Michael.
I have asked brother Kisakye if I might say a few words to you, all his Facebook friends and brothers and sisters in Christ.
Noah's Ark Boys' Home (NABH) started out in thought and prayer due to three very young brothers who had lost their mother approximately two months ago to the terrible disease AIDS that is still a very prevalent threat to many in Africa. These three boys visited Kisakye quite often just to receive not only a meal a day, but a friend and hopefully someone to love them and care for them. Unfortunately, brother Kisakye cannot take care of the needs of these boys full-time. So, we sought in prayer what the Lord would have us to do. During that time along came two other orphans, and now we REALLY needed to know what to do.
The Lord answered the first part by showing a house available in Kisakye's area that was clean and affordable, yet was small. This to me was telling us not to attempt to go beyond what God does not want us to go beyond at this time. Besides, I explained to Kisakye for us to not attempt an orphanage, as there are many in Africa already that are struggling so bad because of the large sizes and great needs. Rather, let us start small, be faithful in what God wants us to do and go from there. So, the prayer was, let us try something new. Smaller group sizes with caretakers, which is like adoption in the U.S. without all of the red tape and all about money, who are willing to take on the responsibility of these homes and children and seek donors who can affordably help support these homes without large dollar amounts. This is where y'all come in.
To properly provide for the monthly expenditures for these 5 boys is $600 U.S per month, or $120 per child (but we only look at it that way to show where the $600 goes towards). That pays for their food, clothes, medical care, school, miscellaneous expenses. If you are from America, you will know that $120 per month will not even come close to getting any of that here! Some of you have also heard, at least in America, that 20% of the people do 80% of the work, and that is sad! The church, as a whole, should be doing 100% of the churchβs work equally. And did you know if it did, there would be less poverty! It may never go away completely, but it would be less than what it is!
So, let's do some simple math real quick. Kisakye has 4,121 friends on his page. If we took 20% of those people, that would be 824 (824.2) people. So, if each person were to give one dollar per month, ONE DOLLAR, we would make our goal, and have a surplus for emergencies or other ministry purposes in Bugiri, like help widows who struggle to help their grandchildren because their children have passed.
But now let's go BIGGER! The same amount of people gives $5 per month, which is very affordable for 20% of the people, period. $5 X 824 people, that's $4,120.00 per month! Now divide that by 600. That is 6.866666666666667, almost 7, SEVEN small children's homes! That is, if God blessed this ministry with more houses and caretakers like he has thus far.
So, if you are not a friend of the Noah's Ark Boy's Home and do not know of the amazing things God is doing in Bugiri Uganda, please go to https://www.facebook.com/noahsarkboyshome and like the page. Please keep coming back as the boys see the posts that Kisakye shares about them, and they feel loved, valued, and sense they are now worth something since they are off the streets! At a minimum, please pray! Pray that God would lead your hearts to give to these boys and their well-being. They too have dreams like the rest of us, BIG dreams too! :) If you truly cannot give, we understand, but please share this post with other friends and family to help get the word out to those who will.
Thank you for your time in reading, and if you give, give generously and with a cheerful heart.
1 Corinthians 9:6-7 - The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
