The Christian life is a journey of continual growth and advancement. The Apostle Paul, despite his remarkable accomplishments in ministry, refused to dwell on his past achievements or failures. Instead, he maintained a forward-looking attitude, focusing on God's higher calling.
To walk in the supernatural power of God, we must make a deliberate decision to let go of the past and pursue the future God has prepared for us. Many believers are hindered not by their present circumstances but by their attachment to past experiences, disappointments, mistakes, or even past successes. God calls us to move forward.
Paul uses the language of an athlete who stretches every muscle toward the finish line. This is what it means to "press." The same passion, commitment, and determination that people often devote to earthly pursuits should be redirected toward fulfilling God's divine purpose and answering His upward call.
The power of forgetting is essential to spiritual progress. Forgetting does not mean losing all memory of past events; rather, it means refusing to allow those events to control your present or determine your future. The enemy often reminds believers of past failures, sins, and disappointments to keep them trapped in guilt and regret. However, God's Word teaches us to identify with who we are in Christ, not with who we once were.
One of the greatest demonstrations of God's grace is His willingness to forgive and remember our sins no more. Through the finished work of Jesus Christ, our past has been dealt with completely. God does not hold our failures against us, and therefore we should not allow them to hinder our fellowship with Him or our progress in fait
