Assalāmu 'Alaykum Warahmatullāhi Wabarakātuh.

The Office of the District Khadi, Arua Muslim District Council, kindly calls upon all Muslims across Arua Muslim District to actively participate in the nationwide Local Council I (LC I) Elections scheduled for Tuesday, 28th July 2026.

Voting is both a civic responsibility and an opportunity to contribute to the peace, development, and good governance of our communities. Islam encourages justice, trustworthiness, and the selection of leaders who possess integrity and the ability to serve the people faithfully.

We therefore urge every eligible Muslim to:

- Turn up early at the designated polling station.
- Vote peacefully and responsibly.
- Respect electoral laws and procedures.
- Avoid violence, hatred, tribalism, bribery, and all forms of electoral malpractice.
- Maintain the unity and brotherhood that Islam teaches.

Let us remember the words of Allah:

«"Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due and when you judge between people, judge with justice." (Surah An-Nisā' 4:58)»

May Allah (SWT) grant our nation peaceful elections, bless us with righteous leaders, and continue to unite our communities upon truth and justice.

Assalamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.

The Office of the District Khadi, Arua Muslim District, wishes to *categorically refute the false and misleading rumours circulating within the community alleging that the Irshad Mosque Construction Project has been stopped and that a fine of UGX 200 million has been imposed on the project.*

We wish to state clearly that these allegations are completely false, baseless, and without any foundation whatsoever. No authority has stopped the construction project, and no such fine has ever been imposed. By the grace of Allah (سبحانه وتعالى), all activities at the project site are continuing normally and as planned.

We therefore call upon all Muslims and members of the public not to be misled by rumour mongers whose intention is to create confusion, fear, and division within the community. Islam teaches us to verify information before believing or spreading it. Allah says:

«"O you who believe! If a wicked person comes to you with news, verify it, lest you harm people out of ignorance and then become regretful for what you have done." (Qur'an 49:6)»

We encourage anyone with doubts or questions to personally visit the Irshad Mosque construction site and witness for themselves that the work is progressing smoothly. The facts on the ground speak louder than malicious rumours.

The Office of the District Khadi remains committed to ensuring that this noble project, which is a House of Allah, continues to serve the interests of Islam and the Muslim community. With Allah's help, no falsehood or baseless propaganda will hinder this blessed endeavour.

May Allah protect our community from falsehood, unite our hearts upon truth, and bless all those who continue to support the construction of His House.

Allowing animals to graze within the cemetery is a 𝘃𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘆 of this blessed place and causes unnecessary damage to graves and the surrounding environment.

Allah Almighty says:

Darsa: The Mosque is the Home of the Believers

Hadith of the Day

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

> "If you see a man who frequently comes to the mosque, then bear witness that he has faith (Iman)." (Reported by Imam Ahmad, At-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah. Although scholars differed regarding its chain, its meaning is supported by the Qur'an and other authentic texts.)

الحمد لله رب العالمين، والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله، وعلى آله وصحبه أجمعين.

Dear brothers and sisters,

One of the greatest signs of a believer is his attachment to the house of Allah. The mosque is not merely a building where we pray; it is the centre of our faith, guidance, unity, and spiritual growth.

The Prophet ﷺ taught us that when we consistently see someone attending the mosque, especially for the congregational prayers, we should think well of him and recognize that such consistency is a sign of faith. This does not mean that everyone who enters the mosque is automatically righteous or that everyone unable to attend lacks faith. Rather, it highlights that a heart attached to the mosque reflects love for Allah and His worship.

Allah says:

> "The mosques of Allah are only maintained by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day, establish prayer, give zakah and fear none but Allah." (Surah At-Tawbah 9:18)

Notice that Allah connects maintaining the mosque with true belief. The first people to build, preserve, and fill the mosques are those whose hearts are alive with Iman.

The Mosque Was the Heart of the Muslim Community

When the Prophet ﷺ arrived in Madinah, the first building he established was not a palace, a market, or a military headquarters. It was the mosque.

From the mosque:

The Qur'an was taught.

Disputes were settled.

Leaders were trained.

The poor were supported.

Delegations were received.

The Ummah was united.

The mosque was the centre of every aspect of Muslim life.

A Sign of a Living Heart

Many people claim to love Allah, yet their relationship with the mosque is weak. Some attend only on Eid, during Ramadan, or for Jumu'ah. Others hear the Adhan five times every day but remain occupied with business, football, social media, or sleep.

Ask yourself:

When was the last time I prayed Fajr in the mosque?

How often do I answer the Adhan?

Is my heart attached to the mosque or attached to worldly distractions?

The Prophet ﷺ informed us that among the seven whom Allah will shade on the Day when there is no shade except His is:

> "A man whose heart is attached to the mosque." (Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim)

Notice that he did not say "whose feet are attached," but whose heart is attached. Even when he leaves the mosque, his heart longs to return.

The Danger of Abandoning the Mosque

One of the characteristics of the hypocrites during the time of the Prophet ﷺ was laziness in attending congregational prayers.

The Prophet ﷺ even said:

> "The heaviest prayers upon the hypocrites are the Fajr and 'Isha prayers." (Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim)

Therefore, every Muslim should examine himself. Missing the mosque occasionally due to illness, travel, or a genuine excuse is understandable. But making neglect of the mosque a habit is spiritually dangerous.

Benefits of Frequenting the Mosque

It strengthens one's Iman.

It erases sins and raises ranks with every step.

It builds brotherhood among Muslims.

It protects the heart from sins and temptations.

It increases knowledge through reminders and lessons.

It brings tranquillity and mercy from Allah.

It keeps a believer connected to righteous companions.

Advice to Parents

Parents should not only tell their children to pray; they should bring them to the mosque from a young age. A child who grows up loving the mosque is less likely to be lost in the temptations of this world.

Practical Resolutions

Beginning today:

1. Make every effort to pray the five daily prayers in the mosque if you are able.

2. Never deliberately miss Fajr and 'Isha in congregation.

3. Encourage your family, friends, and neighbours to attend the mosque.

4. Participate in mosque activities, Qur'an circles, and community service.

5. Support your local mosque with your time, wealth, and good character.

Conclusion

Dear brothers and sisters,

The mosque is the house of Allah on earth and the home of every sincere believer. The stronger your relationship with the mosque, the stronger your relationship with Allah.

If you truly love Allah, let your footsteps be known by the path leading to His house.

May Allah make our hearts attached to the mosques, make us among those who answer the Adhan eagerly, fill our lives with Iman, and gather us in the highest levels of Jannah.

اللهم اجعل قلوبنا معلقة بالمساجد، واجعلنا من عمار بيوتك، وثبتنا على الإيمان حتى نلقاك.

The Office of the District Khadi, Arua Muslim District, was officially represented today at the MUSA Executive Handover Ceremony held at Vurra Secondary School.

The function brought together representatives from various sister schools, including St. Joseph’s College Ombaci, Okufura SS, BATMAS Ediofe, Arua Islamic SS, Arua SS, Logiri Girls SS, as well as the central MUSA executive leadership, school administration, parents, OBs and OGs.

The District Khadi Office was represented by the Secretary for Youth (Chief Guest) and the Secretary for Da‘wa (Guest of Honour).

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Assalaamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

All praise belongs to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ).

Respected Headteacher, teachers, matron, executive leaders (incoming and outgoing), and my dear brothers and sisters in Islam,

On behalf of the Office of the Secretary for Da‘wa, Arua Muslim District, I am honoured to address you today.

First and foremost, we sincerely appreciate the administration of Vurra Secondary School for granting Muslim students the opportunity and freedom to perform their religious obligations and organize Islamic activities. This is a great blessing that should be appreciated not only in words, but through good conduct, discipline, and respect for school regulations. Indeed, gratitude increases blessings.

Secondly, I emphasize that discipline is a core value in Islam. A true Muslim student is known by honesty, punctuality, respect for authority, cleanliness, hard work, and academic excellence. Our character should reflect Islam before our words do.

I also strongly remind you about the importance of Salah (prayer). It is unfortunate that some students neglect the five daily prayers despite having the opportunity. Salah is not optional—it is a pillar of Islam. Let the leadership encourage all students to prioritize congregational prayers and remain steadfast in worship.

Lastly, we must correct the misconception that Muslims are rebellious or disorderly. Instead, let us demonstrate Islam through respect, peace, unity, responsibility, and compassion, so that others may see the beauty of this religion through our behaviour.

Leadership is an Amanah (trust). Lead with sincerity, unity, and responsibility. Encourage prayer, education, and good morals among your fellow students.

May Allah bless Vurra Secondary School, reward its administration, strengthen your Iman, grant you success in both Dunya and Akhirah, and make you ambassadors of Islam wherever you go.

He strongly emphasized the importance of observing the five daily prayers, reminding students that Salah is a pillar of Islam and should never be neglected. He encouraged the student leadership to promote congregational prayers and steadfastness in worship.

He further urged Muslim students to reject the misconception that Muslims are rebellious by exhibiting peace, unity, responsibility, compassion, and exemplary character, allowing others to witness the beauty of Islam through their conduct.
