FOUR FRIARS MAKE THEIR LIFELONG COMMITMENT IN THE GARDEN OF CARMEL – VICARIATE OF TANZANIA
On 20 February 2026, the Discalced Carmelites of the Regional Vicariate of Tanzania celebrated a moment of profound grace and thanksgiving as four brothers made their Final Profession, definitively committing their lives to God in the spirit of Carmel.
The joyful celebration took place at the Scholasticate House in Kola, Morogoro, bringing together friars, religious, family members, and faithful who gathered to witness this significant milestone in the life of the Vicariate.
The newly professed friars — Bros. Samson Mange, Gasper Makwangu, Ludovick Masanja, and Adrianus Mushumbus — publicly vowed lifelong fidelity to the evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity, and obedience, embracing their mission of prayer and service in the Church according to the Carmelite charism.
The Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by Rev. Elius Modest Malale, OCD, Regional Vicar, and concelebrated by Carmelite friars serving in various communities across Tanzania. The liturgy was marked by deep prayer, gratitude, and a strong sense of fraternity, reflecting the living tradition of Carmel rooted in contemplation and apostolic zeal.
Special thanks were extended to the Scholasticate Choir for uplifting the atmosphere of religious commitment through their beautiful singing.
This sacred occasion stands as a sign of hope for the Church and for the Carmelite family in Tanzania. The Regional Vicariate gives thanks to Almighty God for the gift of these brothers, whose generous “yes” strengthens the mission of the Order and inspires the faithful.
With hearts full of gratitude, the Vicariate entrusts the newly professed friars to the maternal care of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, praying that they may continue to grow in holiness and bear abundant fruit — truly flourishing in the Garden of Carmel for the service of God and His people.
