Message: GOD KNOWS HIS PEOPLE
In 2 Timothy 2:17–19, we are told about the Apostle Paul writing to Pastor Timothy to warn the people of his church to be careful of false prophets. He explains that their teachings are like cancer, a sore, or a disease that spreads slowly and eventually kills. This Word reminds us that there are people who pretend to be Christians like us; they wear sheep’s clothing, but their aim is to pull us away from the presence of God, to slowly weaken our relationship with Him, and eventually lead us to destruction.
I want to tell you today: stay away from such people. Look at your life when you were first saved—you were very committed to seeking God. But now you have relaxed; you no longer take worship seriously. You focus more on your own matters, believing that your work and daily activities are more important than God. My brother, my sister, you are perishing. Ecclesiastes 3:1–14 clearly tells us that everything has its appointed time.
Have we reached a point where we are stealing time from God? What difference is there between us and those who rob God of the tithe?
Today, God is calling us to abandon this evil, to leave this bad behavior. Let us not take the name of the Lord our God in vain while we do not live the way He desires and do not obey His commandments. God has already laid His firm foundation, and He knows those who are His. He knows that His people will follow His ways. This Word has come to remind God’s people to return to Him and to stop inviting other gods into their lives—such as money, work, and other things—because everything has its time.
Repent today, for the Kingdom of God has come.
