I was speaking with Pastor Tchaku on an international call today. The connection was weak at times and often delayed. He’d say something that I’d respond to but I could tell there was significant lag time between what I said and what he heard. Eventually, the connection dropped completely. It was disappointing because I really wanted to hear about an exciting door of opportunity that had opened for him and texting would have been way too long to get all the details. What I really wanted was to sit down with this person, face to face over some coffee and enjoy this wonderful moment of communication.

Have you ever felt that way about God?

You want to talk intimately with him. Get real and lay it all on the table BUT it sorta feels like my conversation today… the connection seems weak and the response time delayed.

May I share something with you? Unlike my call, the connection to the Lord is always open and STRONG! No delays in Him hearing you.

Yeah, but I’m sure the Lord doesn’t want to talk to me after what I’ve done! (Or what I’m doing now!)
Really?! Let’s take a walk back to the garden of Eden after Adam blatantly disobeyed God. Of course, the Lord already knew what happened and why Adam was hiding out in the bushes with his wife but He STILL CAME TO SEE HIM! He didn’t kick Adam to the curb in disgust and serve him an eviction notice without even showing up.

He had a conversation with his child! He gave Adam and Eve a chance to talk about their actions. He then clearly explained the consequences of their behavior and why they now had to leave the garden. Everything was done in love.

Do you want to talk to God? The connection is open! Go have the conversation.
He’s waiting on your call!

Blessings!

I briefly perused the morning’s headlines on my newsfeed and shook my head in dismay. I guess by now, I shouldn’t be surprised at what I see, but I still am. I wonder how can all these things happen? Why? What in the world is going on Lord? I bowed my head and waited for words to formulate themselves into a prayer….

“Speak my peace into situation.”

Peace? I begin looking up all the references of peace in the bible. Peace is mentioned many times in various ways. I was especially interested in reading about the situations where the Lord proclaimed peace or spoke peace into a situation. I found several of those as well! The most famous one being, “Peace! Be still!” The words Jesus spoke to the wind and the waves during a sudden storm. He could have just said, “Be still” He’s God, I’m sure they would have obeyed but He prefaced His imperative with a declaration, “Peace!” What I see here is that “Peace” precedes the command “Be still” and creates an opportunity for the command to come to pass.

How often have you been in the middle of a troubling situation and was challenged to even know what to pray? Speak the peace of God to the situation first. The Lord will handle the rest.

“Lord I speak your peace that passes all understanding into this situation and ask that your will be done. Show me what to pray and I thank you in advance for doing what only you can do. I rest in your peace and trust I will be lead according to your will. In Jesus name. Amen!

Now leave it alone!

To be concerned about something or someone doesn’t mean you should run around like that crazy chicken! Expect that people may say, “You sure seem calm about this? Aren’t you worried?” Use those comments as an open door to share why you have peace. It can be as simple as saying,

“I prayed and I believe the Lord is working it out.”

Some may give you a look that says, “If you say so...” Others may want to press in and ask questions, “Well, how can you be sure the Lord will answer?” You can now share a story of when God has come through for you before but even greater than that, you can explain, “I have a peace! Can I pray with you for peace too?”

The PEACE of God which passes all understanding is our response to the daily news, startling headlines and other chaotic happenings in our world. Jesus has promised us something far greater than what the world can provide… PEACE! (Yes, right in the middle of EVERYTHING that’s going on!) Take advantage of that promise TODAY!
Blessings!

Proverbs 21:12
The right-living understands how evildoers operate; he subverts them and ruins their plans

The world's way of doing things would have us think that doing the right thing puts us on the short end of the stick. It seems we get "dripped" on by those who have found the unjust shortcut and taken it.

But God provides an umbrella. His WAY and WORD are our covering. He will protect us from the "drips" of the unrighteous and everything else that comes our way! We're not walking alone and we're definitely NOT on the short end of the stick!

God: I have HIGH expectations of you because I made you and I know what's in you! You can NEVER let me down. (Genesis 1:27) You may choose not to reach the incredible potential I've crafted in all of my creation, especially man, but you will never let me down. My expectation of you will always remain high.

To not meet someone's expectations is to say that you failed to do, or be what they expected. They wanted "THIS" you gave them "THAT" but if "THAT" is all you had to give, then the failure is not on you, it's on them for expecting something that was never in you to give.

I ONLY expect what I put in you to give. (Jeremiah 2:21) I will NEVER stop expecting the GOOD I've put in you. You think I'm disappointed and that causes you to stop trying. But I am not disappointed and I am not tired of waiting.

Come to me and I will show you what is in you and together we will bring it to light. I have High Expectations of you not only because I made you but also because I LOVE you! Take my hand and step into who you were always meant to be.

Romans 5:1-2 By entering through faith into what God has always wanted to do for us—set us right with him, make us fit for him—we have it all together with God because of our Master Jesus. And that’s not all: We throw open our doors to God and discover at the same moment that he has already thrown open his door to us. We find ourselves standing where we always hoped we might stand—out in the wide open spaces of God’s grace and glory, standing tall and shouting our praise.

Treat people as if they were what they ought to be
and you help them to become what they are capable of being. - Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe

My key message is to have high expectations of people - because when you do, because when you do, the people around you will meet those expectations. - Ron Clark

Don’t get lost in the sauce of your current situation. God’s got more in store for you! When you feel like all is lost; remember Joseph’s Story in the book of Genesis and know that the Lord has a GREATER plan for your life that goes beyond what you’re going through now. Be encouraged, God is with you!

No matter where you live in the world, you're probably experiencing some seasonal changes. Life, like the seasons, do change but we want you to know that ACYOM and our mission has not changed!

We are still dedicated to reaching our young African brothers and sisters for God and helping them to excel in every area of their life! God has not forgotten them or us nor has He changed His mind about His plan for ACYOM! So we will continue along the path the Lord has chosen for us and we will be victorious. Keep us lifted in prayer and consider joining us on our journey!

Blessings!

Reponse is a powerful thing! Most people yearn for someone to positively respond to them and that can be as easy as a smile! That simple response says: I see you! You matter!

Try it today!

Just smile! Be blessed by the responses you get from your smile cause that person definitely has just been blessed by you!
